The answer is simple, just look at the history of various countries, such as prohibition in the United States. Strict restrictions always do more harm than good (especially if the politicians tell us it’s for our own good - by the way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ixNPplo-SU ). I should have leave this game long time ago, but I don’t want to see another RO “successor” sinks down. I will fight for a good change, even if I have to fight against stubborn developers.
Let’s return to our topic. Instead of just criticizing the ridiculous excuses of IMC (Statement on Trade Restrictions - it has already been criticized enough) I would like to put some of my (and other players) ideas on how you can solve this problem without killing the game. Maybe someone has better ideas? I gladly paste them on top of this topic, so everything will be in one place.
I would like to point out that even the best idea is unable to remove completely the problem of RMT, just a shame that IMC has chosen the worst ideas.
-
Trading level cap (e.g., a minimum of 75 or 100 levels). This means the RMT company need to invest some additional resources (mostly money) to make a new bot.
-
Trade is allowed only when both characters have been friends for a long time. Having to wait a month if you want to sell silver for 1 dollar is a big hurdle. Especially if there will be friends number limitations.
-
Only items trading, you can’t pay/recieve silver. Item for item.
In addition to what I mentioned, I’m sure there are many other possible ideas. For example, involving somehow the quest system or other already existing systems.
