Why should you be within 10 levels of your questing map?

I have not done all the quests from 50 to 90. I got bored and used my exp cards with some grinding into 83. I am now 96 and still have lvl 70+ quests to do. I am getting the impression that I should skip to a map that is within 10 levels of my range. Why? How does this work? Why is questing over levels important?

if you are >5 lvls of the mobs on that map you start getting less exp from killing them.
you should do all your quests and not skip any if you want to minimize your grinding. you should do dungeons and mission using search party for the exp bonus and use cards only when you are under the lvl of the map (you can stay 10 lvl under if you pref but not more). or if you like to grind you can skip all those and just grind  up to you
also you should explore maps 100% and talk to the achievement npc to get more cards

if you’re more than 10 lower than map level, side-quests may not trigger for you.
10 or more above is ok.

if you’re more than 5 levels below the monsters, they get buffed vs you; extra armor, hp, etc.
try it yourself; find a map with monsters 6 levels above you… kill a few to get a feel for it… then boost up to the next level with cards, and suddenly they’ll be significantly easier to kill.

if you’re more than 5 levels above the monsters, you get less exp from each monster. if you’re grinding, to get the same amount of exp, you have to grind a lot more.

Its only for the mob exp thing, side-quests will always be there, even if u are 50 levels above.
right now i’m almost 15 levels above and i’m fine, just rush quests and dont grind in the low lvl maps

yea, like i said 10+ above is ok.

but if you’re more than 10 levels below, i’ve heard that quests won’t appear. i’ve never actually tested this, because so far i’ve always been well above the level.

I tested this in beta and it did not appear indeed, dunno about now tho but I think it’s the same.

You can be a maximum of 10 levels under the zone level to get quests from the npcs. One or two maps have quests which are actually 1 or 2 levels above that minimum as well.

No other reason besides that. Becomes an issue later on at 170 range if you just card all the way and run out of quests because you’re too low to get ones from the next zone.

I am lvl 142 now, questing now in lvl 140 area and doing missions and dungeons.
I got over 300 lvl 6 exp cards and around 150 lvl 5 cards :b
If the mobs on the next map get higher than me, i use some cards so that i am never under the level of the mobs.
Seems leveling takes longer than this but i am sure the many cards is pared willbecome useful soon.

You all really broke it down.

  • Save exp cards and use them to stay in higher map ranges.

  • Do all main quests at least, side quests for cards and explore 100% of the map for Bonus cards from NPC.

  • Still if you wanna grind feel free, the quests don’t disappear, but useless killing won’t be worth it if your more than 5-10 levels above.

Thanks for all your help!
