I understand IMC wanted to save up the most resources they could by opening the minimal number of servers and seeing if they would actually get full or not (supplying servers by demand).
But theres a few issues (other than the obvious long waiting queues) that I suppose were not predicted:
- Many players have already claimed their founders packs in the orsha / klaipedia servers, this means they won’t be changing servers anymore.
- Players have already wasted TP points buying costumes/cosmetics and such, meaning they probably won’t be switching servers either.
- Players will be reluctant to remake a character and level up all over again in new servers.
Now, I understand IMC is probably working on a solution (aka opening more servers) but those two oldest servers will already be way more populated than any new server they can open (for the reasons stated above).
I believe a solution to the server population balance between older/newer servers can be solved by allowing character transfers to new servers. However, that will probably imply on a big headache for the developers (transfering characters is never easy for the devs).
Therefore, I’m judging this idea of opening as few servers as possible a bad idea. Not just people got a bad first impression of the game - obviously unhappy with the current wait queue - but also character transfering and balancing population between new servers will also be a big headache for IMC.
I do hope we will have more servers and character transfers to them.
All that being said, thank you IMC for your hard work.
