Why r paladin , oracle and pardoner STILL lackluster

been a year and mostly no groundbreaking changes at all!

these classes only have 1-2 good skills

paladin only has barrier (and smite if ur inquisitor)
oracle only has counterspell and prophecy <-- useless if plague doctor
pardoner only has… simony? (discerning evil nerfed)

so why r these classes so bad?? they don’t even appear in the top 100 builds, why has no one spoken about how bad they r and why hasn’t IMC made any changes to them???

Paladin have conviction my dear, which fit perfectly with inqui :3 This isn’t a “bad” class as you say, I’m a pala3 inqui and i do a very nice amount of damages.
And btw, paladin have been change, which made it shine, compared to before, almost used for barrier scrolls (which now fuked up, thanks god)

dont get ur hopes up, in the market a wek ago i found a barrier scroll that had the expand attribute on it.

Discerning Evil didn’t get nerfed IMO, just changed for the better. It’s less effective with short duration debuffs but now that it increases durations as a multiplier, it can still add valuable seconds to powerful DoTs and make longer debuffs last forever and a day. The old method of just adding 20~30 seconds to every debuff regardless of duration was just way too abusable, short debuffs usually have very strong effects which is why they’re short. It’s the same reason why Melstis’ effects on Ausirine was changed.

Pardoner is a crafting class built around Simony and Spell Shop, so it doesn’t really need anything really powerful beyond that. It will always be a relevant/important class because a Pardoner build can provide skills to other players through scrolls and shops. Indulgentia also isn’t too bad, it’s a good quick party-wide cure and the damage is decent if you invest leftover points into Oblation + the attribute to power it up. The only skill that I think needs reworking on Pardonder is Increase Magic Defense, it’s pointless to use a buff that only has about a 60% uptime.

Oracle also has Arcane Energy, which is super underrated since it doesn’t always benefit the Oracle directly. If you have Monk in your build or in your party then you can get a ton of use out of that extra stam, or if you have an Enchanter that uses Agility. Clairvoyance/Resetting are both extremely useful for rare drop farming (especially if you have a Doppel/Thau alt or friend to duplicate the drops). Change is also a very important skill for Druids since it gives you access to monsters that don’t normally appear in the game. Oracle has plenty of really cool skills, honestly, so that’s not the problem.

I think Oracle’s problem right now is that all their useful/interesting skills are frontloaded in C1, most of them don’t benefit from higher levels (Clairvoyance/Resetting is lv1 max, Change only needs lv1, Counterspell only needs lv1~5 unless you’re expecting to party with lots of Shinobis and Necros), and the C2/3 skills are difficult to use (Twist of Fate, Foretell) or poorly executed (Death Sentence). The only reason to take a higher rank in Oracle right now is for the gender switch shop or if you really want high level Arcane Energy for some reason. Modifying how some of Oracle’s skills work or moving them around in the ranks might help Oracle become a bit more valuable beyond C1. Or maybe they could finally give a more useful effect to Forecast and bump it up to C2 or something.

idk Paladin but it looks like Maki has some thoughts on that one.

To make Oracle effective at higher ranks, you will need to move Foretell to rank 1 and nerf it such that C2 and C3 will have buffs to it (larger circle or increased damage negation chance or slower circle). As for the prophecy and counterspell, let counterspell have Lv 1 status immunity as an attribute at rank 2, prophecy will deal damage at rank 2, and a chance at negating damage at a 5% chance.

Oracle will remain a one circle wonder unless there is a class that requires Oracle 3 (which would be a little sad because that would be the only reason to do Oracle 3)

If you are a barrier crafter, it’s normal… People who don’t haev the attribute cannot expand the barrier and have the tiny one.
