Why not to stop playing Tree of Savior?

they didn’t exist in the game
but they existed in the sales/business departments plans
im pretty sure this whole thing was strategized from the get go

release the content and make it annoying
wait for the player base to get annoyed
then conveniently sell them items to rid of their troubles and cash in

I don’t think it was this way. Hidden classes were a thing since beta versions I think? At least korean betas.

Shinobi for example, was actually a think that came by April 2016? And even before in ktos…

Gacha in ToS didn’t even exist by then I think. I don’t disagree that the idea of selling vouchers is a way of making money and convenient. Players actually likes it and use it a lot (altho I still dislike it - but I’d end up buying vouchers from players if I had no time to actually camp the NPCs and etc).

But I doubt it was initially designed to be a cash shop item later. Maybe yes, but Gacha wasn’t even a thing back then.

It is possible that they planned it that way although I simply think they eventually got that suggestion internally, discussed and added to the game.

We can just look on how reluctant IMC was to add some type of cash items back then. Initially they didn’t even had plans for gacha in iToS.

They started adding things eventually and seems they got more used to it by now and had more freedom through time to actually add items and change them.

If they actually planned to give class vouchers since they implemented them they would have thought of the voucher selection box far earlier instead of giving each one randomly like it was in the first versions.

/tinfoil on
maybe they 4d chessed us and released these annoying unlock quests to subliminally lead players into asking for an easier way to complete them
/tinfoil off

welp, even if they did or didn’t plan this ahead, im under the assumption that IMC are not dumb(they made this game after all), these quests were intentionally made to be time consuming but not necessarily difficult or challenging from their inception, they have not stated the reason as to why…
so i can only assume that its for some monetary purpose, it doesn’t sit right with me that they essentially gave the content a soft lock, by gating them behind a time consuming farce.

I feel it’s mostly because culture of people responsible for design when it comes to that.

A lot of hidden quests works by spawning things on X timer. The mystical cube recipe has quests like that, some maps such as Galeed Plateau have hidden quests that works like that.

World bosses and gimmick bosses always worked as a timed spawn mechanic.

This is simply used everywhere, as much as we dislike it, that’s just how it is, over all the game lol

well they heard from their player base that this design culture is not welcome when it comes to unlocking classes. they then release and sell the advancement vouchers as a response, why did they not just make the quest actually difficult instead?

who knows… maybe if they would tell us and be transparent, people wouldn’t have any colorful assumptions.

they can make genuinely difficult and challenging content, eg. the alternate costume quests, but for some reason they decide to add ridiculously long timers to these quests and keep it that way.
hmmm…

not sure if op is trolling at this point though.

instead of telling people to complain/boycott on imc (where everyone knows progress is a bit slow). wouldnt giving us details on this scammer for us to make multiple reports be a better choice?

i don’t see you made any public post about that as well

i’d also like to add the fact how you want us other players to stop playing/enjoying the game just because you got scammed due to a major shortcoming on your part to check prices.

i like the quest! make them harder!

The spawn for that HG is the whole map though and too spread. I dislike farming there although it might be different with corsair due to higher chance to pillaging.

the spread was annoying, but i did farm it with corsair and enjoyed getting blessed shards, mithrils & opals while doing so

edit: forgot to mention that i even got 2 card albums while farming!

The concept of “it’s hidden, you are not supposed to get this easy”. The thing is, this is not hard, it’s just a torture and boring quest. That this is a video game and games are supposed to be fun, fun but hard? challenging? yeah, sure, lot of games are, this quest isn’t, is plain wrong and bad for some reason we already know.

To those white knighting “make them harder i like it”, i would love a hard quest if it is fun and not a camping waiting nonsense, there is nothing hard about this quest, you already know what you have to do and you just can’t because you have to wait hours to pick an item.

There is also called “gameplay mechanics”. For this kind of game, doing quest too hard would be breaking the game. I think most mmorpg are too easy in most things and too hard in specific things to make more profit, force you to buy, etc. So too hard, too easy, in the wrong place and time means a bad game.

Before the white knighting learn something about video games.

A lot of people are confused with “hard” and “annoying”

TOS is mostly annoying.

Monster Hunter for example, handles difficulty very well.

i hate how this game was killed by rediculouse inconviniences…

here is what would have to change for some people to even consider coming back:
1 silver trade
2 removal of item locks on trade
3 better emdgame (and i mean not ET, but more like normal raids in other games, that is not annoying like it is right now, but rather challenging)
4 removal of transcendance
5 removal of potential on items, and introduction of item break on refine
6 better class quests, and some better balance
7 incentives to play a single character

i do not have solutions for those things, however, the current state of the game is boring…

IIRC there are some minigames on maps people never visit that are quite challenging (one comes to mind where you have to lead a mining cart through rocks and exploding tiles), and would fit perfectly for unlocking hidden classes.

I think people just want everything immediately, maybe they’re spoiled by bad mobile games. I unlocked both appraiser and bm on my main character and I’m not using either of them in my build anymore lol. If I had to ask for one thing is, for example, the removal of 0.02% items from collections; but

A) it’s a subjective issue
B) what would be rewarding about completing them then? Especially whales would be done with them damn fast by buying stuff off other players in a couple of days

Also, some people ask for more challenging content because they say the game is too easy, some ask for challenges to be eliminated because they’re too annoying, and I don’t understand. A simple example? I see many players ranting that “boo hoo world bosses are so ez! They’re just hp sponges!”. Really? When I’m in game boss hunting though, everyone wants to avoid searching for Mirtis and Rexipher because “omg they’re too hard” :'D I’d never listen to players… Or just give them a 2 billion HP Balzermancer and then laugh at the infinite salt it would generate lol

I believe it’s more of how TOS does difficulty compared to other games.

Camping for a flower is never hard, just one big annoyance.

BM quest to me was okay, not too much waiting and I did the BM quest before they made it easier. I think the one we have now is just perfect. Not too hard, not too easy, not too annoying or repetitive.

But camping for more than 2 hours to wait for that flower to spawn is…meh

We’ve got good gimmicks like pendulum search, shooters, etc, similar things could be done for class quests. At least these things will never be solved by a database collection that spoils people, you still do it yourself.

I saved more time buying the voucher in shards than doing the quests. XD
