Why is the game so painfully easy?

Lol,you were playing for 10+ years and even participated in WoE but you didn’t know that there was the /quickspell2 option to spam potions via turning the mousewheel? Oo

Spamming potions via mousewheel made it never a hassle to pot. Also, builds with VIT and demihuman reduction never died in 2-3 hits, that applied only to Acid Demonstration and Guillotine Fist/Asura Strike (whatever name you prefer), since most skills required a really high upgraded and carded weapon to boost your damage enough to nuke someone.

Real oneshotting came with the increasing frequency of godlike item creation and the renewal update/3rd Classes, where ± every new Jobclass got an option/setting of items that can be used to oneshot others.

And lets not forget that RO had elemental armor and elemental reduction cards to make tactical survival even easier(as Ghostring card e.g. could negate most of Acid Demonstrations and Guillotine Fists damage [-75%]).

There was also Ganbantein added to some bosses skill reservoir to remove said skills.
In contrast to TOS, those skills required gemstones to cast them, which made spamming them a costly practice.

Still, I believe that prerenewal RO was alot harder for the majority of players than TOS is now. You generally never really hunted monsters close to your level, because they were too strong most of the time — some Jobs like Mage or Archer had a range/trap/knockback/Firewall/Stone Curse/Frost Diver advantage that allowed them to hunt monsters that were even higher than their own levels, but that was ± the exception of the norm.

In TOS, you collect 1 basic set of 315 rare HG armor and you’re basically at the same level as a high defence, high upgraded & race resistance carded player of pre-renewal RO in terms of survivability.

Wait what?
Iro if Full of IRO only stuff even quests ect.
Iro is the most p2w/modified server from all.

Beside that its full of bots and i even hear you got a mvp spawner and pseudo mvp cards.

Every not p-server is closer to the original.

My point is about MVP-ing in RO and comparing against bossing in ToS.

If boss AI on iRO/kRO and all other servers are different, then my statement is invalid, but if they’re the same, my argument is still “worth talking about”.

VR/WSM/Ifrit just had to lure into portal…bring in a tank…safety wall…lex + asura…it’s over before you know it. If client allows multi-clienting, you can do it alone…with bragi + service on the other side of portal.

GDB just spam reflect shield…

Bio3 Mvps just ledge it and it’s over.

P.S. I’ve only pre-renewal

the last tine ive played was a couple weeks ago. And when you pull alot of monsters at once it can be hard to kill them. atleast with my build it was hard.

Oh, btw. STOP comparing ToS to RO. It’s completely different types of games. Want to compare to smth - compare to Diablo 3 or PoE.

Mousewheel

Can imagine you moving your finger up and down for 2 hours.

Also, builds with VIT and demihuman reduction never died in 2-3 hits

For the 2-3 hits thing, i was obviously talking about the current/last 7 years state of the game.
Gods are basically the difference between killing in 2 hits and in 1.

Real oneshotting came with the increasing frequency of godlike item creation

Yeah, that’s how it should work, in a small scale fight, but the game is literally about deathballing and you get oneshotted nonetheless.

There was also Ganbantein added to some bosses skill reservoir to remove said skills.

You got the point, i’m not going to list every single skill bosses or characters had, i’m just making a point about RO being a broken game where players had to abuse class mechanics to do anything. There have been different eras, with different problems obviously.
What RO didn’t do that this game DID (and they are totally different games) is griefing people with annoying ■■■■ just for the sake of annoying people.

Rw gets even worse with the 175 update.
And not gls are the problem.
Only Brisi and megs are usefull these day.
More the mvp cards.
Like Tao sura/tao Rk 6 dragon breath per second.
thanatos/samurai bow Ranger Arrow storm that kill whole allys.

  • Way to much stat points some cls can have instant cast stun immunity and max aspd in 1 build xD

Thats why i play tos now even if i still play woe.

Renewal was a mistake. I remember the good old times thinking hours to spend every single point in my character before even create it. I miss those times.

They even added Pardoners Increase Magic Defence to the buff shop for even more facerolls after seriously buffing the buff value. I guess we’ll be seeing 2500 mdef boost and around 1400 def boost from Aspersion given the new bonus stats and SPR from equipment.

Pardoner’s shop is getting a 30% reduction of effect on the buffs they sell so they won’t give the full effect of a Priest’s buff casted by themselves, however not like it matters because not a single Priest would max Aspersion, Sacrament and Blessing outside of a Pardoner shop build, if anything Blessing since that’d mean giving up on Revive, Mass Heal and Resurrection which are way better than what Aspersion or Sacrament can offer in my opinion.

The clever Priest drops Blessing to 0-5 and maxes Sacrament after the update. The Blessing formula got worse than Sacrament, thus isn’t worth investing that many points into it[the multiplier of Blessing is 0,2 per skilllevel while Sacrament has ~0,334]. Blessing 5 adds 423 damage(i.e. 639 with attribute), Sacrament 10 1614 damage with 500 SPR.
If you skill Blessing 15, you get 1210 damage (i.e. 1815 with attribute), which is just a little superior to Sacrament. However, since Blessing got unlimited hitcounts now and Pardoners usually have level 17 Blessing, there is no need to actually have Blessing at all, just buy it from a Pardoner and skill Sacrament instead for a higher boost[Sacrament 12 = 1914 vs Blessing 17 = 2052, however, that’s 5 more skillpoints for just 138 more damage, for 700 SPR the difference is 242 damage].

On top of that, the Sacrament Monster Gem is added to weapon or shoes, leaving you with more options for gloves (since the new 350 gloves have only one socket, that’s a huge benefit; Exorcise,Heal and Divine Might are also weapon/glove gems)

I like how all of you are still discussing this, while the thread started never actually commented again since creating the thread. :tired:

He made another thread in steam forum xD

No that ■■■■ is waaay too late in the game.
We need difficulty curves starting from the start so new players don’t up and leave out of boredom. @STAFF_Ethan @STAFF_Yuri @STAFF_Ines @STAFF_Letitia

Difficulty does not need to be in terms of taking a long time to kill mobs. Just increase mob damage so players are threatened. Heck you already have a lot pof potion sources to make early game easier. Just make sure that if the player did not prepare potions they wil ldie out in the wilderness. Right now everything tickles at the first 50 hours of the game (lvl 1-200) And for new players that is just dumb. You will only retain a few players that don’t mind it being an easy game. You will lose everyone else.
