Why is DC so prevalent in this game?

I play from SEA and played alot of games hosted in my region and US but never have I experienced as much random DC as this game features.

Are other servers suffering the same?

Imagine a well coded game (client and server) data flow like this:

And this is the state ToS is:

20 to 30 ms on Fedimian. But the server is lagging anyway. I can bunny jump with my Wizard, but sometimes the server just says no and I see my character jumping, attacking, but he stays like 2 sec on the ground at the same place. So I’m stuck most of the time for no reason.

It happens when I have 20/30 ms and 60 FPS soooooo ~~. Didn’t notice crashes on Fedimian, just those weirdo lags.

Hasn’t this been around since last year?
Players agreed that it was a feature that IMC didn’t want to fix, unless you count that 7% improvement that some players insist is true.

DC is prevalent and so is getting IMCed.

I’m probably very lucky cause my client has only crashed a couple of times total… I always see a lot of complaints on crashing but it just almost never happens to me

Could this be the origin of blindknighting this issue?

huehuehue

No, I didn’t say it’s not an issue because it doesn’t happen to me.

Nor am I blind to the fact that it is happening… I just find it weird it doesn’t, felt like sharing cause, why not?

This:

Is not your latency, it’s the time the GPU take to update the movement in the screen.

I think you already know this but, to know the latency (network response) you type in normal chat //ping it will show you the current latency.

@Val it vary from system to system, be it OS, background running software or, more accurate, hardware.

Y, I’m talking about ping.

there is no way you can have ping as low as 20ms unless you are playing directy from Kimmy’s office.

For ToS servers, yass it’s clearly not posible. For other games you can have 15/20 ms or less.

Yup, it is a tos only problem. I heard not even singapore users can get ping as low 20ms with the server so close to them. I hope I misheard that. Even the service provider is telling imc to gitgud.
Server instability is an issue that we have been and currently are trying to solve but it is indeed a difficult issue. However, what I can say that the client lag has been improved through the recent optimization effort and it will be included in upcoming patchs soon.
As for DDoS, its very difficult thing to overcome. Everytime DDoS attack occurs (including today), Service provider blocks targetted machine, so we have to provide service excluding that machine. The problem is Service provider also limited our access to admin account as well, so we cannot add machine instances for now, resulting very crowded users in less machines in SA regions.
We have made a contract with one of the world’s biggest cloud service provider, but their counter-DDoS measures differed from region to region. This situation is beyond our expectation and we are currently in talks with the service provider but we are yet to receive a satisfying answer from them. The proposals we have received were seeking a different service provider or move it to the NA region, which may leads to also dissatisfying solution to many users. So we’re seeking for other solutions now.
Kimmy posted this in 2016 May. Almost sound like a joke, yet it is still relevant.
