Why IMCs post on trade restriction is illogical

@Staff_Julie @STAFF_Ines @STAFF_J @STAFF_Ethan @STAFF_Shawn @STAFF_John

“something that isn’t worthwhile to both gold sellers and buyers.”
why do you think it wont affect regular players?

One day you will have a server with out bots - and players. But missions success right? Good job (just like how KTOS is going down)

also

"Gold sellers transfer their goods using the following method:

(1) Run multiple bot accounts (to accumulate silver)

(2) Transfer the silver to a separate “seller’s account”

(3) The silver on said seller’s account then goes to the buyer"

except silver is not trade-able but forget logic right?

They transfer the silver through market. Arguably this system makes it easier to detect gold seller.

Though, there are better limitation that can be implemented without making the players suffer.

If they transfer silver though market then 1:1 trade restriction doesn’t affect them in the first place… please dont write offtopic

It forces the bot to slow down the trade by using market, which can be detected easily.

IMC can just implement trade with same limitation for everyone though, it slows down the bot to be detected easily too.

If bots had 1:1 Trade - THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TRADE SILVER - thus making the entire point

Gold sellers transfer their goods using the following method:

(1) Run multiple bot accounts (to accumulate silver)

(2) Transfer the silver to a separate “seller’s account”

(3) The silver on said seller’s account then goes to the buyer

INVALID

Do not compromise gameplay and playing environment to prevent something that is optional to players. Encourage gameplay, not discourage. Proper promotion and education will deter Goldsellers.

And if you cannot stop them, join them. Similar to Guild Wars 2. Create your own legal way of getting in game cash. I wouldn’t agree for real life currencies to be converted to in-game credits, but it is a way to curb illegal gold selling especially if you are so red-eye upon those gold sellers, maybe you should do it.

What i am saying is that whatever measures IMC have implemented to curb illegal gold selling is stupid and are immature tactics. Look long term. Focus on the players.

they can still track gold sellers though auction or what not but it doesn’t affect 1:1 trading in any way. simply because gold sellers are not able to trade silver in a one to one trade. So why restrict 1:1 trade? its so regular people will buy tokens. - they are using gold farmers as a scapegoat. I don’t mind IMC trying to make money because they are a company before anything. A company needs money to survive - but dont do shady ■■■■ like this. They can make cosmetics or other stuff to make money off of.

Dude I’m not defending imc. I did said that they can do it better. I’m just explaining why they are using the current method.

@Mirarara
and im telling you why that method had nothing to do with 1:1 trading

Dude, why are you raging so hard? Being a nice and respectable person will get you much further in live… Just saying.

Also, on topic and @eunsongchoe1989: The point of not having free 1:1 trades is to force RMTs to use the market. Don’t you see that? And by forcing them to use the market and having a 48h delay in market transactions, IMC can try to sort out RMT transactions. So the system can in fact work as it is. The only problem is that they do also hit legit players with this.

damn, he rage so hard his brain not responding…
title so out of his main post’s topic. IMC’s post ‘Statement on Trade Restrictions’ fully explained the restrictions on placed on AUCTION HOUSE.
No plans were mentioned regarding 1:1 item trading (if ever they will change the 30/month limit on token-users or what not)
Team storage is getting modified in the next patch to allow lesser restriction on item sharing (including silver hopefully) between lodge characters.

TL;DR
if you wish to express your discontent on non-token user not being able to trade and the 30/month limit on trading for token-users, I can think of better ways to relay that point.

how does it affect regular players? if you need something, go to the market. If you want to sell something, go to the market.

they are saying that’s what would happen without implementing the restrictions. both english and logic are hard right?

If it made them that easy to detect we would have less bots by now, not more. Clearly their system experiment was a failure that just upset a large number of players.

Theory and practical is different. Clearly they had failed by now (due to lack of GM I suppose). I want my free market back.

Right behind you on that. Its good enough for 90% of mmos.

That is fine, then just make it so we can trade items but not silver. I don’t see the problem with just letting us trade items… I really want to be able to do this with my gf and it has become staggeringly irritating for us that we simply could not tolerate it any further…
