Hi, IMC. Frst I want to apologize for my poor english. I’m making this post to show my frustration with the game, and to let you know why i’m quitting it. It’s like a tester’s report. I hope this help you make a better ToS. I won’t come back here. I’m going to list the things that made me feel so bad about ToS:
1 - So many skills, most do the same thing: damage. It’s nice to the player have a lot of choices, but there isn’t actual choices. Basically, most of the skills resume in dealing damage in a different way, some times in the same way. I’ll take the pyromancer case as an example. Fireball, fire wall, flame ground and fire pillar. All these skills have the same formula: stationary skill that deals AoE damage over time. Come on, why do we need 4 skills that do basically the same thing, with just little difference between them. For example fire pillar hits flying foes and flame ground does not, why? I see you tried to make use of the flying mechanic, but you failed. you basically forces the player to go another advancement in the pyromancer class to get a skill that is not so powerfull, have a VERY LONG cd, is weaker than fire ball (you can use two fireballs lv 10 and deals much more damage than fire pillar, also you can move the fireballs). Why? Fire pillar does not make the game play more dynamic, it’s just more of the same… You don’t slow the foes with the fire skills, there’s no combo that stuns, only fire ball apllies flame debuff (but that’s only for pve, only stupid people will be hit by pyromancer skills in pvp). Same for hell breath, you have to stop to cast the skill. How does going pyro c2 or c3 makes it more dynamic and funny to play with the class? How do you hit people with pyromancer skills in pvp, if they can even push your fireballs away? How will you ever use Flare? Now let’s look at the elementalist. What elementalist does: AOE AOE AOE AOE AOE, and there are two skills that act equally: blizzard and frost cloud. THEY ARE THE SAME! Why get two skills that do the same thing, AoE ice damage over time? There’s no combo, there’s no mechanics, there’s only AOEDOT zzzzz… At the other side, you get classes, like linker, that are completly useless to go c2 or c3. Why go linker c2? To share buffs like concentrate or gung ho? And why go c3, the duration of umbilical chord is only 30 sec and the players have to be very close to each other, or the link will break… The only reason to go linker is hangsman knot and jointy penalty. Most of the players get only linker 1. I won’t talk about all the wizzard classes because this would take a very long time, but just let me say that there are a lot of repetitive skills, that does not even combo with the own classe skills, less with the other classes. Featherfoot, for example, have to skills that do the same thing, heal the caster, blood bath and blood sucking. Why get two skills that do the same thing? And those skills are completely useless in half of the enemies and players. Why? Why? What’s going on with your game designers? Looks like you are just making the desires of someone that does not care about sinergy and mechanics, just visual and concept.
2 - Instance Dungeons. That’s is so frustrating. First of all, monsters there don’t drop a miserable kepa stem. The only reason to kill them is the exp, but, if you are 15 or 20 levels over the monster levels, there’s no reason killing them. There are no quests in most of the dungeons. It’s just a senseless space, with a lot of monster that will only give exp if your are between the right levels. What happens is that people just boss rush, run to the boss and ignore the whole map. What a waste. The monsters in dungeon should drop gems, or the itens that they drop outside, or other thing. The boss should drop something good then. No, you run the whole dungeon to kill the boss and get a talt, 90% of the time.
3 - Why there are no skill/stat reset npc in game? Really, you wanna make profit over it? So don’t tell the player that a skill or a class is “hot”, a new player would get it because you are telling them to get it, until it’s too late to realize that that skill is not good. So, the player can reset it, right? No, the player have to pay, or make a new character. Really? Come on. What year is this in the MMO kingdom? Do we need to take a course and learn how to calculate everything to play this game, so we won’t make any mistakes that can’t be corrected unless we pay ot waste time making another char?
4 - The exp curve is so strange. It’s totally ■■■■■■. Why do we get exp cards? Can’t you just make the exp curve more balanced and remove exp cards? What are those exp curve resets at certain levels? LoL I can’t understand this…
5 - Itens. You want to everyone use the same gear at higher levels? This is what it seems like. There is jut no variation that is worth keeping the item in lower level itens. At least make more variations for higher level itens, so we could make use of especifc itens in especific builds.
7 - AI of bosses and summons are terrible.
8 - Why we level so fast in this game? It’s 400 levels, but feels like you can get to 400 in one or two months.
