Why gm not standby in town and ban gold seller immediately
because it’s very lag when go in town

Because you’re not paying them $100/day to be there. GMs aren’t free. This is a small company with a lot of work on their hands at the moment and not a lot of money coming in.
You think GMs are really just game masters who patrol and catch bots? That’s like a side job for them -.-
are you sure there is not a lot of money coming in with the new founder pack ?
Compared to the tens of millions it cost to make , publish, and maintain this game? Yes, I’m quite sure.
Fyi their manned in-game staff isn’t very large. There are multiple servers with multiple towns in each.
Even the forums have a small amount of manned staff. That can’t exactly reply to every single private message and mention to them.
They would lose more money from people leaving the game because the are sick of the spammers if they don’t start doing that
Those people will leave anyways. Every MMO has them. There’s nothing you can do about it.
Once you had played enough mmos, those seems like nothing but flies buzzing around. You don’t even give a damn anymore.
if game engine better i’m not serious about gold seller or bot.
The game engine does in fact need to be optimized. You are correct there. That is an entirely different issue though, and it’s one that will take a long time to solve.
Given that IMC is developing another MMO using this same engine, I would expect they will work on optimization quite a bit. This is their first game on this engine, so they are testing the waters, so to speak.
Only if they’re managable.
I don’t know how many guys are pissed off wasting megaphones to find parties, WTB, WTS, then suddenly some spammer who prepared 50 megaphones started spamming sites.
Be like ‘this game’s full of bots. I’m outta here’
Not quite a rare occurrence for people to leave because of these.
But the lag inside town is not about gold spamming. Just like how people were screaming world chat causes lag. It’s more about the rendering engine.
I don’t know where people got the idea that lag is caused primarily by chat. It’s a factor, it’s just damn byte packets. Rendering engine takes a toll.
this isn’t because of the spammers. the client is rather bad at drawing many characters on screen at once.
it’s a shame there’s not a function which could… i dunno, block what those spammers are saying.
the engine was created for Granado Espada, 10 years ago.
it’s not the world chat itself, it’s the scrolling ticker at the top of the screen. it’s quite a significant difference just turning that off. but like you said, that’s all part of the render engine.
Ouch that’s more believable. I want to turn that stupid thing off too.
Well of course it varies for games and situations. But normal spams wouldn’t really scare off players.
I came from an age where there were no gold spammers.
They scare me.
runs
(yeah for real, back in the early 2000s I’ve never seen gold spammers)
open chat bar, click on the gear at the end, uncheck the “show shouts at the top of screen” or whatever it says.
oohhhh thanks~
Welp I guess this topic is resolved at least - unless IMC becomes a multimillion dollar company, don’t expect GMs on standby 24/7
(Even my salary’s worth crap here compared to the billion dollar deals made month to month)
Maybe they are lagging too.
Ah, right you are. I thought they started from scratch for this and Wolfknights. My mistake.
