For fun? As much as we enjoy pvp and pve, some people would actually enjoy the social aspects of the game unlike us shut-ins and introverts jk
Just the same as Youtube, Facebook, anything that features “Like” mechanics.
It pushes people’s self-esteem or ego and they think those likes are actually worth something.

Big numbers means everything, no matter what those numbers represent.
Some people just love to bask in other people’s affection, even if the others are total strangers with whom they have no connections whatsoever.
