Why cant I quit?

So I seem to not be able to stay away from TOS…
And I’m not sure why…
I actually just came back from a 3 month(ish) hiatus during which time, i actually uninstalled TOS… Then reinstalled it about a week ago and I’m right back to playing…
Only to find this game even more dead then when i left…

All my friends have quit, not one single person on my friends list has loged into the game in 4 months or more, and I just solo farmed a new characer to 280…
I DON’T EVEN LIKE SOLOING MMOS!
Not to mention that theirs really good events going on in other games that I play…
(srsly do you know how many OP events i just missed in DFO!?)
But i cant seem to stay interested in those other games, you know?..
None of them keep my attention like TOS seem to be able to do…

And I’m seeing people post about lag, and rubberbanding and ect, Im not even having these problems, My only issue is the FPS…
That said… I’m not even sure if I’m still having fun…
But i just cant seem to stop playing this dammed game…

Sorry about my rambling…

Maybe I just need an entirely new game to play?..
Anyone got some ideas?

Its because the game has a nostalgic feel, it was designed very much like old school games. Also despite everything wrong with the game it has potential, there are a lot of players in the same mind set hoping it lives up to it one day and becomes worth playing.

Addiction. Even when you know something is bad for you, you just can’t stop, lol. You could also just be finding something enjoyable about the game as well, so it keeps you playing in hopes better things are to come… Like me. ^-^ I’m not blindly hopeful as I once was and wish I still was for it to improve, but… as said, I still find it enjoyable.

ToS is a rare gem in MMOs. It maybe unrefined but it have a lot potential improvement. Personally,i don’t see you weird at all. In fact, i just went from average playing to super casual. It is still worth playing.

About your problem, are you playing in Orsha server? Did you constantly play in channel 1? Did you find a guild who is willing to accept your playtime? Events are dull if there are no buddies or partners with you, don’t you agree?

About lag, rubberbanding and FPS problem, you need to take everything in forum with a grain of salt. There will always be toxic people complaining every single detail and trolls giving wrong information.

Nooooooo, come back to the side of blissful ignorance.

Nah I’m on Klaipeda, but yes i stay on channel 1 and it seems that my guild gets more and more dead by the day…

Ah… The first two months of ToS.

Me: “This will be the best game in years! Things will improve, they are a small company and it’s a brand new game, this is all normal!”

Me 6 months later, with a 2 month break: “I’m just going to ignore the bad stuff, drop swordie class, and enjoy it for what it is… The poten…tial… ha… haha…”

The game’s good might be why. It just has massive amount of issues.

I’m kind of like you, I’ve thought I’ll never like another MMO this much. Here I am grinding away in grind parties.

If you can’t stop playing the game, you probably like it.

This is very true too. I feel like I am picky on MMOs, and the game play ToS has is what keeps me here. I tried a few other MMOs, even thought of going back to old ones, and nothing beats ToS right now. IMC does have this in the bank if they’d just legitimately improve the game, because there’s not much else out there like it besides Ragnarok in some respects. And Ragnarok is now ancient, and P2W.

I liked FFXIV, I just wish it had the same class system as ToS. :sob:

Mhmm, I tried to get into that as well. I’m actually a big lover of 2D isometric, and aesthetic wise Tree of Savior is the best of its kind. For me, what I usually like in games:

Grind.
Classes. Normally I am all about speed melee.
Mechanics. I don’t want an easy game, and ToS offers so much diversity on game play. This includes it being open world.
…Cute. I like cute.
The one thing I’m missing here is a truly international server, because I love playing with people from everywhere. I’ve found international communities to always be the most fun and social. However, I know right now with the way optimization is, I’d be having a much harder time on my AA classes without the server being in my backyard.

This game is good if only they manage to solve those problems(unless they want to re-make, we will always get small improvement by months/year). And look how they ignore this forum. I had no idea what are they thinking.

Right now ToS is covered with poop and dirt, instead of digging it from poop and dirt to polish, clean and wash it, IMC just leave it and doesn’t want to get their hands dirty.

Or the real reason might be just because his quit game button is bugged and doesn’t work properly…

TOS is meth. It’s harmful but fun thats why.

Makes sense, at least in my server everyone’s always shouting looking for Ale & meth.

I guess that explains a lot.

Maybe you are experiencing this thing called : Fun without friends.

two types of games: games which are fun with friends and games which are fun even without friends.

and games which do not need friends to be fun to play are also fun with friends, so I guess TOS made sure that “loneliness” isnt a problem for you.

best of all, IMC make sure there is BOT to accompany you while you adventuring around the virtual world.

if you ever felt lonely, just warp to Klapeda/Orsha city, there will be bunch of silver-seller waiting eagerly to speak to you!

(strange, but why there is no silver-seller in fedimian city?)

I think their customers are newer players maybe. and i think some of them use mega phones to broadcast their sales.
