Why are people crazy about ignition rod?

I sold my recipe for only 1m a couple weeks ago not realizing its high demand. I just don’t see the appeal. It seems people really like the proc - 5% chance to afflict a dot(burning). I hear the dot does about 500 damage, which is trivial when everyone is doing thousands per tick at 200+. I feel you are much better off with a 220 weapon with higher magic damage. You can easily find a white rod wit 270+ magic attack. Compared to 192 of ignition, I would use the white rod over ignition any day.

Just saw a chaplain with ignition… that just blows my mind
for a class whose damage is based on auto attack, he’s missing a huge chunk of physical damage from a mace, all that for a 5% dot? Am I missing something?

Chaplain’s auto attacks scale with INT, SPR, and STR. So I believe that means Maces are actually best for them.

only Aspergillium

only 1st hit.

I assumed Aspergillium had 100% uptime, sorry if I was wrong about that. Not 100% sure how Chaplain works, just that they scale with all 3 of those stats to some degree.

I think the burn works the same way as other burns, meaning it scales directly with your magic attack.

Afaik the burn scales with your MATK and elemental property damage from your gear gets added to every burn tick, so it’s a very powerful proc.

The one part you need to understand about the weapons like ignition and venom is that everything you do procs the burn. Same as the elemental dmg is added to every hit.

All aoe hits proc the burn which does more than 500dmg per tick(not sure if it scales with level or what the deal but it does). A quick youtube or google search will show you videos of people using it at 260+ and the dumb dmg it does.

That why is so desired.
