As the title implies I’m curious why people think this is a good idea. I can understand it for early game DPS, sky liner, and block overload in limited situations certainly. How is the use of cross guard for block and additional pierce damage viable?
Dont we lose finestra immediately upon swapping to 2h sword?
You don’t need to switch to a 2hander to use skyliner.
EDIT: Baiscally I assume you’d skip crossguard entirely and just go with the rest of the highlander tree instead since Skyliner and Crosscut are probably why they go that route.
That makes sense. To clarify, this is the build in question: Triple Pierce Dragoon. Sounds great on paper using Cross Guard to stack over 1.5k block at higher levels and extra pierce damage to pair with Spear Lunge. Is there any way to make this work or is it totally misguided? The guy who made it seems convinced that the block bonus from Finestra works together with Cross Guard…otherwise why even take hoplite so late.
