White screen at startup, then crash, no error code

Bug Description :
(letting us know what you were doing before, during, and after the bug happened will help us a lot)
Game does not start. Game loads to a white screen and immediately closes. no error message.
THings I’ve tried:
-Disabling antivirus (Norton Internet security)
-Uninstalling antivirus
-updating drivers
-updating windows
-Verifying file integrity, at least 5 times?
-deleting game data, reinstalling game
-restarting pc
-disabling steam overlay, VR mode and such
-running steam as administrator
-disabling second monitor

Nothing seems to have fixed it.

Steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. Launch the game from steam
  2. Wait

  • CPU : Intel ® Core ™ i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20 GHz
  • RAM : 24 GB
  • Graphics Card : MSI geforce gtx 970
  • Mainboard : MSI Z97 Gaming 5
  • Storage : 350 gb SSD
  • OS : windows 10 64 bit
  • Internet Connection : 49.86Mbps Download 23.78Mbps Upload
  • Country, Region : USA, Hawaii

i have the same problem, i deleted all the xml files in release folder. then checked the integrity of the files in steam (game -> propreties -> local files -> check integrit) then opened the game, it updtaed some things and i played well, but had to reconfigure the comands.

I have the exact same problem and followed leoqueruz method. Only thing that changed is that after a while waiting in the white screen, it turns black for about 10 seconds and closes with no error messages.
WTF is wrong with this error? I have all my stuff updated, running on Win 7 and i’m starting to feel guilty to buy a Founder’s pack just to stare to a black screen for a few seconds. I can do that on a turned off TV and it last longer :rage:

You just deleted the xml files, checked the integrity cache and started trough steam? Did the same thing and no change at all. Just a additional black screen after the white one

Tried everything too and nothing changed. Game launch, get white screen then black for a sec and close the game with no error …

Friend of mine redownload client twice to get it to work tried all methods before redownloading though. Eg. Changing resolution and verifying files through steam>tos

My friend has the same problem and we can’t play it together which is really making me angry.We tried everything but still his computer always goes black-white screen in character creation and makes crazy and scary sounds.
Did anyone fixed this problem ?

Deleting EVERY XML file under the Steam\SteamApps\common\TreeOfSavior\release folder and doing the integrity check did the trick for me; also I updated Win 10 but I doubt that helped.

EDIT: Haven’t done any reinstall yet
