Which server now?

Hi all,

I am a new player from Melbourne, Australia.

Can someone advise which is the most suitable server for me as I couldn’t find a clear answer.

Is it the SEA one?

All servers are currently located in Virginia, USA.

You’re gonna run into some pretty hardcore lag no matter what right now, unfortunately.

In the future the servers should move to their respective regions, so whichever will be closer to you, SEA or EU, would be a good place to start. Orsha and Klaipeda will likely remain based in Virginia.

Thank you all. I am not so sure about SEA.

I was told ping is typically lower to US than to SEA because of data traffic routing.

I have tested the SEA server, pretty bad at times, maybe I should try on Orsha and Klaipeda and decide.

As stated, at the moment, all servers are in US-east.

After F2P goes live (sooner or later), EU and SEA servers will be moved to their local regions. There is also a planned server transfer. You can look into that and plan your move. :relaxed:

If you want to test for future ping, you can try http://www.cloudping.info/

go to your respective server, so that it can be easy to transfer later. if you’re from sea and u play EU, who knows how easy u can switch later?

Actually I’m in Sydney Australia I’m finding US WEST to be the best ping.
Singapore comes close but still all US-West always comes first.

Checking out different servers won’t make a difference to ping yet. All servers should give more or less the same ping, because they are all physically located in the same place (that’s right, there are no differences between servers yet).

The point of [EU] or [SEA] servers is that they will be physically re-located in the future. So, in the future (a few weeks) people from EU will get better ping in the EU server compared to Klai/Orsha. The point of making your character in those servers now is that when the relocation happens you will have free instant access to better ping and you won’t have to request or buy a server change ticket.
