Android: Sid Story u.u
I can’t find an MMO to tide me over at all right now. I tried to get onto GW2, but m’eh. No group to play with and solo content is lacking seeing as I did all the Living story and map completion, B&S killed me inside, the most on rails MMO to date. I’ve been able to play a bit of PoE though. I’ve mainly been sticking to single player games lately though, easier to go through and move on!
I also swear I saw your character in San Francisco recently @Gwenyth, yet remove the sunglasses and add a bunny tail. Spitting image of the guy. It was impressive.
It finally happened, from MMORPGS to RPGs, Final Fantasy XIII right now… awful combat system, not open enough as their previous versions but the story is pure gold… maybe I will should stick to off line games until international release O.o Any sugestion?
Fallout series. From FO1 to FO4. Should be enough to keep you busy til ToS2 release. lol
Oh god. FO1&2 are absolutely amazing, but I can’t even begin to think of how outdated they must seem to the general younger age audience. At least it isn’t as bad as Baulder’s Gate.
I wait patiently for Kim’s work. I feel empty playing an MMO unless I’m hunting for invisible 3x3 pixel click boxes in the background art when I’m questing.
I do MOBAs though… Trying to crawl back into the top 25 for HotS right now, as a solo flex(not actually a big deal the competitive community is small). Went casual for awhile when Blizz nerfed all the skill ceilings and damage. Then Blizz had a change of heart and started putting in high DPS things and things with poke and it made me super horny! So climbing back up to the top. I’ll take the game seriously till iToS releases. Then I’m going to drop everything…
Nothing is going to get in the way of ToS time. * _ *
it’s hard to find someone who likes hots, all my friends rather play LoL
so i ended up playing neither haha, but i remember the beta <3 it was so much fun ;3
Thanks for the advice but I have never been a fan from FO… please don’t hate me >.<
I totally understand this, most of my friends play LoL even when all of them accept that HoTS is way better, I don’t see any good reason to keep playing but they insist to stay >.>
Funny, I have friends who I can’t make stop playing Heroes even though we all hate it.
I’ve been playing blade and dailies lately, but I wont be playing it much longer if it keeps up being nothing but dailies once you’re level capped.
Hating someone on the Internet because different opinions and tastes? Bollocks!
I wasnt a fan either. I started playing FO3, then the New Vegas. FO4 will have to wait and Im no rush to play it right now. I just found the setting too amazing, especially because of tis dark humor.
Only recently (a year or so ago) I bought FO1, FO2 and BoS. Isnt quite what I expected (lol), but tis more about lore than anything else.
But since tis not your cup of tea, you could try The Witcher. I heard dem modz are good. ( ͡º ͜ʖ ͡º)
EDIT: Oh! Oh! Dragon Age too!
I had a lot of fun just reading the story timeline of the Fallout series, yet i haven’t played a single one of them haha. However, the story is kind of neat.
For games, i do mobas like everyone else, it’s nice to have a kinda balanced free2play PvP game on which you don’t need to grind.
My pick is League of Legends, just because i don’t want to bother learning how to play another moba (you know, every character, with all their skills, every item, builds, counters, objectives, item path, etc.)
Other than that…
I find myself playing a little bit of Trove, just doing a few dungeon rush, or daily stuff.
Gems of War is a silly Candy Crush, nice if you already beated Puzzle Quest, which is also a nice game.
Path of Exile, oh yes, i remember enjoying that one, it’s nice, i like to see a lot of loot on the ground, it makes me happy.
Dark Souls is great too, i get really immersed right after i press the start button, so that’s nice.
This one is my secret joy: Rabi Ribi.
It’s a nice bullet hell + metroidvania kind of game.
Normal scenarios are like your typical metroidvania kind of game; full of secret items, different paths, big maps with hidden rooms, power ups… You know, metroidvania.
Bossfights are a bit different;
You have this combo meter that fills as you do damage without getting hurt, uppon filling the meter, you get an E/D/C/B/A rating, which determines the difficulty, the rating decreases when you don’t do damage or get hurt, so the difficulty increases and decreases constantly.
Some of the changes that apply with a high rating are: improved AI, increasing the number of projectiles, giving the bosses different attack patterns and things that i didn’t find out yet.
I recommend playing it on hard, since normal and easy settings kind of reward you for dying, which is a thing that i despise from the bottom of my heart.
It seems like a silly game if you don’t reach 'till the third or fourth boss on high difficulty (because the first few bosses are kinda easy if you are used to platforming action games).
The devs managed to capture the feeling of a bullet hell without that pesky feature that they all have, you have to hold the attack button for ever, avoid looking to where you shoot, mainly focusing on dodging.
Instead in Rabi Ribi, you gotta dodge, yes, but you also need to make sure to unleash your best combo everytime the enemy get exposed.
…
TL;DR
- Fallout: (story)
- Trove: (speedrunning dungeons ftw)
- Gems of War/Puzzle Quest: (Candy Crush for non-casuals)
- Path of Exile: (loot & gameplay)
- League of Legends: (it’s a moba)
- Dark Souls: (immersion)
- Rabi Ribi: (personal fav)
BTW, most of them are not MMOs. I don’t do MMOs since i want to save my itch of grind/endless questing for ToS.
I’m trying out Dragon Nest. It’s pretty fun so far! But it’s still just to wait for ToS
.
Those sound like something I could play for sure. And maybe I should try FO since every body keep saying that its story is great.
- Fallout: …as I said I could try, still not sure.
- Trove: never like it, I don’t know why people is so attach to this game.
- Gems of War/Puzzle Quest: I think I played this for a while.
- Path of Exile: I used to play this one a lot with my friends, maybe I could go back.
- League of Legends: I am trying to make friends move to HoTS so I don’t think so.
- Dark Souls: Love it, it is great.
- Rabi Ribi: I have a friend who will love this… not me but thanks I guess xD
Thanks for you recommendations.
i strongly recommend dark souls series, but you need to get really deep into it to fully understand and love it <3
really, it’s a masterpiece
if you choose to try it, then check out the lore videos as you fight bosses and meet npcs you like https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWLedd0Zw3c5RCXboUsPwHsZJlXB2CzCz https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWLedd0Zw3c7iIIMT0WQwEVeztYgS4A_t
or after you cleared the game, or even before, but you’ll need to watch the videos to get immersed in the game, but it’s not a bad thing, really, i re-watch it all the time ~3~
the first one you should play is dark souls 1, if you like it you can try demon’s souls (precessor not lore-realted, ps3 exclusive), and dark souls 2, always checking the lore on vatividya <3
i haven’t tried bloodborn myself, but it should be as good as the others
and in 2 months we’ll get dark souls 3, that looks really amazing, i’m really looking up to it <3
Yeah I think for high level players it’s really an acquired taste. The parts I like about the game are the map variety, tower ammunition limits and how much structures there are to break. I also like towers not hitting hard and being a massive deterrent for small skirmishing early game. I still remember the LoL patches in beta where they nerfed towers into the dirt I was in heaven. Then there was a huge public outcry and they got buffed up to 11.
I think I prefer Heroes like DotA myself better though… Cause I like the high punishment, maximum skill ceiling, play you get from being able to full to dead heroes that make a wrong step. But DotA is a game I’ve played enough so HotS ftm. I also like competing in the smaller communities you get to know everyone you play with each night. DotA it’s like half the people can’t communicate in english very well and/or blasting a boombox over their mic.
Honestly in terms of MOBAs, I used to play Smite but have gotten bored of it. Atlas Reactor had an alpha sneak peak event, and I think it has been by far one of the most enjoyable MOBA games for me. It’s not your typical lane based MOBA, but rather an RTS based MOBA. I can’t wait till its out tbh.
Other than that, I’ve played literally everything, and I’ve gotten bored, so back to waiting for ToS. Maybe I’ll try Asta or PoE Ascendancy when that’s out.
PoE Ascendancy looks like a ton of fun! I’ll probably be giving that a whirl myself! The dungeon traps look SO GOOD!
I’ve also been getting bored of games recently, been jumping around single player games then WarFrame as well. Really hard to get into it though, No direction early game is confusing! OTL
I’m playing lotro( Lord of the rings online). Even if I don’t really like Lord of the rings ;p I really enjoy the game. And other mobas too. I’m playing LoL with my girlfriend but since this new season, which I didn’t liked it, I’m about to go back to Dota2 or Heroes of the storm with friends.
