Your second build is weird. Peltasta isn’t doing any good for Doppel C2. Take Highlander1 instead.
oh, i already screwed up my character then by going peltasta, i guess ill just go for the dragoon build then 
Nah, it is a great choice.
If you still want to follow a Barbarian > Doppelsoeldner build then you can do it. Overall for PvE I would choose Dragoon though, because spears allow you to deal higher damage against large enemies and bosses.

pelt is great in any build because of the huge aoe taunt. i figured just hearing “taunt” it would just be you get mobs off your allies. but you can use it to pull a big room of mobs. for c1 its 11 enemies thatyou dont have to run at and attack or run through a bunch of times to agro. very good.
even if the class does not give actual dps increases its still great just for this. now for min/max pvp prob not good
