What's up with the Blessed Shards and elites?

I’ve been hunting elites for the blessed shards since the new patch hit and I’ve noticed that they won’t drop in some maps at all. I am being careful that the mobs are over lv 330. Also, I’ve been grinding the HG during the weekend with the +1000 loot chance buff and I haven’t seen one blessed shard drop from a single mob.

Probably just bad luck, as the rate is 10%. I’ve found plenty myself in Nazarene Tower. Also, looting chance only effects the drop rate of unidentified items (armor and weapons).

The 30 level gap might also refer to map level rather than individual monster level.

This. Pre patch the drop rate of blessed shard was small, but i still managed to get some here and there in HG.

Post patch, 0. We partied HG with friends for 3 hours and got absolutely none.

Looting chance only affects the drop rate of unidentified equipment.

This only applies to elites drop rate.

The rate to drop a mineral from the mineral group is 5%.
The 5% rate is then further divided by drop rates of those minerals.
E.g. Terranium makes up 9,1% of those 5%, which means the overall drop rate of Terranium is 0,05 * 0,091 * 100 = 0,455%.
This also applies to other items of the same category, as e.g. Blessed Shards.
Pre-patch, the rate was 0,9% within those 5%, so after patch it is tripled to 2,7%.

This means the overall drop rate is 0,027 * 0,05 * 100 = 0,135%.

Looting Chance doesn’t affect this, only the random stat equipment drop rate,
so it doesn’t matter how high your looting chance bonus is.

On average thus, you need to kill 741 monsters per shard in Hunting Grounds (excluding Elite Monsters).

i wish they would make necromancer and sorcerer require an unlock quest that changes based on time and day to prevent bots from free farming on the class and try something new lol :tired:

I’ve been getting far more shards, cannot complain. Yesterday I got 14, 4 from elites and 10 from normal HG mobs IIRC. Today I got only 2 but didn’t spend too much time there yet. Seems to be working as expected, and as people said, it doesn’t change with looting chance (at least I believe so).

that would screw up the non bots and what about the bots already there…

a bot users can just program the quest route one full day and screw up normal players trying to do the quest even more

we always have to suffer to nerf the potency to bots, i’d rather suffer a little just to slow them down. i’d really like to see the bots i’ve seen for 1 month get taken down though…

it seems like the ingame report doesn’t function at all so we need to take a screenshot of every bot in every map / channel by hand and post them on the forum like all the other servers are doing…

I just killed two elite monsters in Drill Ground Of Confliction (level 204) with a level 224 character. Both dropped a Blessed Shard. This is the first time it happens after killing a good hundred of them in previous maps, so I guess it’s indeed map dependent.

Level doesn’t seem to be a factor since I was 100+ levels above map when I got mine, it was the dungeon on the bottom right of stele road (am bad with names and memory D: )

In fact yes, the drop rate seems to be consistent. It’s low, but not that low. Got 6x2 shards yesterday while leveling an alt in level 200 maps in less than an hour. Good to know, because that’s an amount of extra shards that’s not negligible.
