What's the point of Dungeon Matchmaking if it's solo Q only?

Or maybe make the name anonymous on the matchmaking system, on that way the player will having hard time to abuse on that Q system thing.

Yes you are.
At least I didn’t call their name out. Actually, I was begging them instead.

You seem to have gotten them backwards. Matchmaking is when you queue up alone and the system provides a party automatically, and premades are when you have to gather members on your own.

The incentive is you just click a button and the system finds a party automatically. The game is stopping us from making our own groups by putting an exp penalty on them. Even if you’re willing to take the penalty, other players won’t, and if they did, you’d be harming them by lowering their exp.

This is a lie. Everyone else found groups easily when the dungeons were working, parties could be made, and the boss crash bug hadn’t crashed the population. I only saw one group insisting on a linker, and to state the obvious, a group would only want one cleric and one linker, so that means 3 others. Dungeons are all soloable so groups don’t bother min/maxing. I didn’t play either a cleric or a linker, before you ask.

Multiplayer games aren’t for being anti-social. Designing a game to promote anti-social behavior is a quick way to drive players away.

Queuing for fresh groups and queuing for in-progress groups are separate, so you’d just queue for a new group instead, and kicking is easily fixed by lowering the bonus when a player is kicked. Nobody would kick if they could just go in with 5 people in the first place.

What i mean by this is you have premade party with your friends and don’t need to gather members anymore. In short like a static party,

pre make takes time
idk how people come into the conclusion that premake is faster than auto match

making premake and auto match having the same exp bonus is one way
my alternative suggestion is to allow dual and trio party (not 4 cuz i think thats almost like a premade) to enter auto match queue

to prevent kicking other solo players after the party are made, make it that no one in the auto match can kick teammates
also, if one quit the auto make party during the run, apply 5-10 min cool down so that the quitted player cant enter the auto match queue in the next 5-10 min

It’s not about classes here, but about the dungeon system. Rewarding users that use random matchmaking is not a bad idea, but giving 600% bonus will just destroy the purpose of friend-parties. I know some classes will always be superior…and I will not complain about that, but this right here is more of manipulating players then to really fix the problem. I am sure there are better solutions for this problem

Classes was an example
But, yeah I agree we need dungeon in an mmo, with better traps mechanic and puzzle system than just running around and grinding.
I want it to be like this xD

so if one of those who qed up is trolling his team and doesn do anything but standing around cannot be kicked - what happens to the party? screwed? okay good suggestion xD

Disallowing kicks would open the door to griefing, but they could make it so solo queuers get to make the decision on whether to kick anyone. In a leader system give group lead to a solo queuer, or in a voting system count a partial premade as one vote collectively.

There’s seems to be confusion on how we will define premade party here.

One meaning is you gather “Stranger/Solo Player” members first to make a party without using matchmaking.
Other meaning is that you have static group/friends/members ready to played with on dung, grind or quest.

As far as the earlier comments here they want to played with their friends so I assume that it’s a static party meaning of premade party.

to prevent this, they can make it that one can be kicked when all 4 other people agreed to kick him

if unfortunately there are 2+ people trolling, make a ticket to GM so that the player will be banned for 1 month

i never try the current auto match system, so i don’t know how it works.
but i think most these trolling issue can be resolved when they open a specific ticket chanel that deal with this issues

and theres the problem again - what if those 4 are premade x.x of course they agree all 4 to kick the guy who qed into them and wait for the 1 guy theyre waiting for to q into them and get the bonus xD

as i said above, 4 people premade party is not suggested to be allowed in the auto match queue

Higher exp reward on solo qs is because matchmaking system is dumb and wont look for specific class distrubution in a group. So you can end up in a party with no healers/support at all or get players that dont know what they are doing or get crafting characters with unconventional stat distribution and overall time to finish dungeon will become much longer (tho its not always the case).

dude, don’t stoop to his level. Reading some of his posts, you could say that the guy has social-psychological issues.

In my opinion, the matchmaking is good without any bonuses because you do not have to waste time waiting to be invited by other people or making a party yourself if you have no friends on.

But why can’t you queue with a friend or 3? Just why? yes it MIGHT make your run faster, but what’s the problem? It is only 4 runs a day or even 2. Don’t we deserve the fun of playing with friends in this game?

Just make the bonus the same as in a premade party with 4 unique class branches (but without this requirement) for random parties and allow people to queue with friends.

The forum is not full of such topics yet because many people do not even know about this problem at the moment.

You don’t get 6 (600%) times more experience.

You gain 20% more experience if you use matchmaking if you were to solo it or go with guild only, since it’s divided among the party.

That’s it.

Doing pre-made is for friends and guild and boosting. You already have a team, you already have friends, you don’t need matchmaking, you already have an advantage over a solo dude.

Matchmaking is for solo players and those wanting to meet new people.

Some classes can solo dungeons later on. The bonus in matchmaking makes them join others for faster runs and experience and this way keeps the community active. If you could solo a dungeon as overpowered DPS, why would you ever let a Cleric join you since you don’t need them?

It’s best to leave it how it is.

Sounds like a good thing to me. If it were true anyway. I know FFXIV atleast has its ‘dungeon roulettes’ several of which can only be entered as a solo player.

In case of ToS I can see it being nice since it means you are more likely to go for the solo option if you are after the exp, and thus avoid the whole ‘‘friends already done their dungeons who am I going to do it with’’.

Now playing with friends tends to be more fun anyway, so that balances out with the lesser exp if you opt to go without the dungeon matchmaking.

Plus if you played a game like LoL (many other examples, but this one is the best of them) you’ll know the negative impact ‘‘premades’’ can have on a group.

The exp seems to be fair.

I’ve been in MMOs for 20 years. Its very common to take much more time to do dungeons in solo Q’s versus premades.

The bigger increase in exp makes up for the fact that a 30 min dungeon can be a 2 hour nightmare.

If your lucky, you will get a good group and do things in 30 mins but if you aren’t you won’t lose too much exp/time because of the increase bonus.

Dungeons in this game aren’t hard enough to justify this.

It’s stupid that you have to call friends or broad for ages to find a perfect set of players to party and still miss out on 50% xp compared to anyone who pressed ‘find party’.

The solo MM is almost always the dominant choice since you can queue with people from other servers, and thus it takes forever to get a manual party going. Besides it’s not like we can spend the whole day running these in iTOS. Even in KR I never had issues finding automated parties even at 2-5 AM their time. Eventually some player will be overleveled and trivialize the whole dungeon despite not being an optimal party.

Equalize the EXP. Make it 600% for everyone. Elitists will play with their own groups, casuals will have no issues with random impatient people who don’t want to find a party and others can play with their friends with no disadvantage.
