Hi guys, I want to hear your thoughts about some build I was wondering.
I know people will say “Go Hoplite”, I despise Spears, in every MMO I played, I allways used swords.
So, what you guys think ? Is it viable for PVE and PVP ?
It’s um… bad. You’ll only have like 4 attack skills until rank 6.
Frankly it just doesn’t work well, especially the corsair skills Jolly Roger is PvE but you need Iron Hook for PvP so you’re not getting Dust Devil, a good attack skill.
Also Bunshin no Jutsu in PvP, is probably like instant death. However I’m not 100% sure how it works.

Also keep in mind that, Peltasta and Corsair don’t work together at all. (Peltasta = Shield, Corsair = Dagger/Pistol) You can switch weapons, but still…
You didn’t understand the build. I only have 4 attack skills till rank 6 to help me level till there, because if I wanted to optmize the build, I would have none.
Going Corsair C2 is all about doing normal attacks very fast, comboing with Restrain level 10 for stuns, and Bunshin no Jutsu, it should be deadly.
The reason I added peltasta at rank 2 are to pull mobs with swashbuckling and gaurdian’s evade attribute. besides, I would be playing mostly in parties.
I could have dumped Pommel Beat and Double Slash to get maxxed Gung Ho, but it doesn’t work with Guardian, and I’m not entirely sure if I like the attribute that lowers own defense.
At first I had Barbarian C2 in there, but I than I thought that at high end it would only add more weak skills. In the end, Swordsman C3 will be more beneficial to the build.
Defense means like zero in this game ATM, the evasion however is the only thing you’ll be getting guardian for so no reason to further decrease your attack.
Trust me, you’re going to want Dust Devi, it’s a multi-hit skill with overheat. It will help keep your target stunned.
Iron hook in the case of an auto-attack build would be completely useless because you can only use Keel Hauling when it’s active. If you’re objective is to use it to get close, then you don’t need more than one point. (Although I’m not sure if you can move while using it).
If you are going for an auto attack build, why did you get Katon no Jutsu instead of Mokuton no Jutsu?
I imagine you’d also need someone to confirm restrain works on your clones, because I imagine it won’t.
If losing 60 defense means nothing, so is losing 14 damage. The reason I put 5 points in Guardian is raise it’s duration, I’m too lazy to remember to cast it every time it ends. Same reason I placed 10 points in Jolly Roger.
Dust Devil doesn’t appeal to me, I don’t plan to be spamming attack skills with this build. And besides, it’s animation is too flashy, I’ll certainly being hit by mobs when using it, I mean, if I was able to use it, because it’s more likely I’ll hit the button and a monster’ll hit me before the animation, it’ll consume the mana, the overheat and do nothing.
Hexen Dropper is much faster and I’m just placing points in it 'cause there’s nothing good left to take.
About Iron Hook, I wrote in the title: “(PVE+PVP)”
That means I’m not solely going for PVE here, and Iron Hook is good in PVP. I’m not placing points in Keel Hauling, because it’s a terrible skill, if it only work on bosses, but I doubt it can pull them.
The reason I choose Katon no Jutsu over Mokuton no Jutsu is the same reason I hate preparation for Fencer. Don’t wanna stand there on the PVP arena, praying that someone will hit me. Couldn’t find any video of Katon no Jutsu, but the 8 seconds hiding seems pretty good.
Alright then.
If that’s the build you want, then do it.
What does iron hook add, without keel hauling?
Still recommend Guardian to 1 because -14 Physical attack vs +7 Physical defense.
I also recommend at least 3 points in concentrate despite it falling off pretty hard late game, because leveling is going to be VERY very slow… and every bit will help towards that.
And seriously you can’t be bothered to push a button every 35 seconds?
