What will happen to our characters after the founder's server is over?

I am looking at participating in the founder’s server, but am unsure what will happen to my character and stuff i had bought after the founder’s server is over. There has been chat about different servers being created all over the world, and if i was say forced into an American server, would i be unable to transfer my character to an Oceania one where i will have minimal to no lag? Will i lose my $50 for nothing? or will it be completely linked to your steam account, characters and everything?

I dont think there will be news of an OCE server anytime soon. The founders server will likely be based in NA.

If by chance the OCE gets released tru steam by IMC, the likely scenario would be to create a new character from scratch instead of server transfers.

Probable given to our lord and savior @HelixFossil

Jokes aside no one knows, I guess we have to wait…

Right after early access is obviously free to play(everyone who did not pay can join the steam servers). Your characters will not be deleted or else it would be pointless to buy early access. Nothing really happens other than it would be free to play.

And about transferring account, I wouldnt be so sure about being able to since its not from steam.(unless its connected to steam)

The whole point is because i want to spend the $50 to get the accessories and bonus stuffs, but i don’t want to lose them if an oceania server does come up D:

Well you can think of it this way.

What is OCE servers are a seperate publisher? That way you wont be able to transfer anything for that matter.

If they do indeed release an OCE server via steam (similar to what they did for awhile during iCBT where after a week or 2 they added a SA server), you MIGHT be able to hold off claiming ur bonus items…?

I dont think the bonus items will immediately end up on ur first character inventory. You could hold off claiming them till further anouncements are made.

Imo server stability + channels are more important than ping lol. Beta’s stability was horrid :frowning: and the lack of channels made leveling up and questing irritating…

Just be realistic. As much as we all want a server in our region, it won’t happen anytime soon if it’s not even announced yet. Even those regions already announced would probably still take 1 month or much more to catch up after this International release.

It’s just a no brainer that setting up servers would take months. They don’t just buy couple of hardware and rent an office space. They need to pick a local publisher which they don’t even know well yet, setup agreements which will involve lots of debates since it involves $$$ and might as well involve license matters, go thru all the tech setup and trial n errors, and etc etc.

Character transfers? As long as the regionalized TOS are local publishers and not IMC themselves, I don’t think it will happen. And no, Steam is for this IMC International release. Local publishers most likely won’t or perhaps can’t do Steam.

Its early access, anything can happen.

Depending on what the game developers do in early access, we can face major game play changes or even character wipes. This is very common in a lot of early access games I play. Yes it would seem pointless that we would pay money to be wiped but playing a game with an unfixed designed/error would be far more pointless to continue playing with.

Most early accesses will tell you upfront that game breaking changes can occur during early access and the actual release date.

I’ve read somewhere that the founder’s will have a different server aside from the open beta one. But that only applies to the 3 month early access on the previous announcement. I don’t know how will it apply regarding the 1 month early access.
