AFter using ice wall + PP with invocation buff, boss gucci got 99 HP stuck and my autoattacks started spawning invocation spirits.

I assume that it counted the boss as dying somehow, spawning the souls.
The boss’ HP staying at 99 is not a bug, it’s part of the quest. Notice that the boss only died when you attacked it near the Collapsing Device.
