What Should I Do Now?

Because of the issue with the final battle of the Drowsy Scent quest it’s impossible for me to continue down the Klaipeda quest line. (For those who don’t know a lot of people have an issue with the final battle of the quest dropping their FPS to lower than 1 before finally freezing and crashing. In my case it drops from around 120 FPS to around 0.11 FPS)

I have done the Orsha questline up to about that same point. The problem is if I continue then I will be over leveled and not be able to get any exp from any of the monsters in the Klaipeda areas when/if they ever fix the battle.

So, what should I do? Start another character get it to the same point and then start another character? Go back to low level areas and KS noobs? I mean… Farm low level mobs for their drops? Give up on the tons of exp I’ll be missing and continue the Orsha quests? Other ideas?

You are suffering from FPS loss, you said you normally get over 100 FPS, try the following (just make sure to take note on all the settings you are using right now to revert all the modifications):

Go on Steam Library find the game on the list and right click on it, go into properties and on the General Tab you will find Start up Options (i think it is that, mine is in portuguese), and add -dx11 click OK and close the properties window, this will force the game to use more processor cores.
Now open the game, go on Options and disable all of the video enhancements (FXAA, Bloom, etc…) set the game for Low Settings and enable Vsync, if it still drop the FPS, try a last resource, lower the game resolution (i would guess your is 1920x1080 or higher) try lower to 1440X900 or lower) and try it again.

Unfortunately none of that helps. I’ve disabled all the options, set it to the lowest resolution, killed all other non-necessary processes, set the game to high priority, added the -dx11, made the recommended xml edits for improved FPS. Still drops like a rock and freezes.

Can you post your system settings? GPU CPU RAM

ill have to see when i reach that quest? Where is this one at? cuz im level 123 i have not done it

Also you can try and check, the programs running on the background and disable some of them to free more ram, processor if that what is causing the issue(unlikely though).

It hits 120 with all those settings changed and everything set to the lowest levels and with RadeonPro going. Obviously I’m not going to play like that when I don’t need to, so normally yes, it would be lower. I’m not sure how you would have missed it, it’s the main storyline quest in Klaipeda, a few maps past Tenet. I think the quest level is supposed to be around level 50.

I don’t think it matters. Tons of people, all with different systems have this issue. It’s so widely known that during the beta one of the devs actually commented on the post about it which is the only time I’ve ever seen them comment on anything on the forums. Yeah. This has been a known problem since the closed beta and still isn’t fixed. Honestly it’s just a battle against 6 enemies, so no one (on either side, according to the dev) has any idea why this battle is causing such a huge issue for people.

Then i probably already did it, i cleared all those maps. Are you sure is bugging you with FPS drop? Now after all the patches?

When Vsync i on it caps to 60 FPS, with it off, it goes up to w/e the GPU can provide.

I think i just remembered the quest, its that one you have to lower the monster HP to 50% and press V to stun it and collect the item. I did that one and never had FPS drop on that area, then again, it was a while and before a few patches.

You have to take note that the game is far from being optimized so it is bound to have serious problems, on the maps after Gateway of the Great King, the sand in the wind effect cause a huge FPS drop and stuttering.

No, this is the quest where you have to bomb the sleeping tree people then the sleeping tree people and some ghosts who were disguised as humans attack you.

But yeah, this quest is listed in the known issues thread so it’s something on their end. I’m mainly just trying to decide what I should do until it gets fixed. Lol.

Crazy enough i realize that after i made the post, but it was irrelevant at that point so i let it be

Sorry not sure what to tell you, i done it on 2 toons w.o issues.

Same, never had problems, but then again, i am under Nvidia GPU, not sure how the game port itself on AMD GPUS.

Same here. No issues with this quest battle at all

just taking a shot here, I didn’t have a problem with this particular quest, but I was previously stuck with Obversion. what I did was use steam’s “Verify integrity of game cache” feature, then crossed my fingers. I guess I was lucky :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow. That worked. I did that, it found and replaced a few files, I started the game up and tried it again. It still dropped down to <1 FPS but after a minute or so it adjusted itself and I was able to murder everything and finish the battle. You’re a hero or something.

glad it worked for you too!
:tada:
and congrats!
