What is a good Combination for Hunter/Falconeer

Not quite sure why you put Ranger C2 in there.
Falconer is not a DPS, it is a support and its damage output is reflective of that, Steady Aim 10 isn’t going to suddenly make it so and Ranger C2 skills are underwhelming .
Your Hunter skills as well aren’t missile type so they don’t benefit.
You can go C3 Hunter for Growling which will provide some area denial in your function as a support.

Alternatively if you’re adamant about having R2 Hunter, you can grab Rogue (Feint + barrage for 10 hits) or Fletcher.

That or just scrap C2 Hunter entirely, and get Wugushi C2 or Scout + Rogue for Flare shot, Feint and Capture.

Personally I’d just go C3 Hunter if you’re going to have Hunter and C2 Falconer in the build. Your damage is going to tank regardless might as well play on the niche by stunning mobs aoe and then dropping Circling/Snatching for the party.

If you were looking to be exquisite at damage, then C2 Falconer isn’t your goal unless C3 brings a really powerful skill (and no one knows that).

Anyone here has a hunter? I have some questions about coursing.

Does coursing actually work on bosses? I don’t mean the disable itself, just the critical chance effect. Did anyone actually try and test it?

It doesn’t

It does not give you +40% critical chance? Damn, I find it hard to trust people. Any chance you could upload a video of it?

i’ll make a video for you later, also i’ll show growling + snatching damage(also while your pet are under growling’s effect, sometimes you can use rush dog/snatching to nearby mobs

I really don’t care about growling, wouldn’t have that since I’d be a hunter c1. I’m not the op I have a different build in mind.

And snatching would take away +100% damage vs flying mobs for me so that’s a nono aswell.

If you could just show me a test of coursing vs bosses, and your attacks prior and after whether they crit more or not that would be amazing

I’m just curious, if you take hunter, do you really need to feed your pet everytime?

How long does it take does 1 meat to expire? haha

-out-of-curiosity-only-

I didn’t feed my pet for days already.
Their stamina depletes quite fast so it is quite costly

I put Ranger C2 as a temporary link to Falconeer since I’m still not sure what class to go to. Right now I’m planning to go scout at Rank 4.

Is Falconeer C2’s Sonic Strike not good?

Snatching doesn’t take away the 100% bonus.
It just adds additional 100% bonuses to Slash and Strike when attributed.
Since Snatching is Strike type You’ll gain that 100% bonus + your 100% bonus for having a 2h weapon.

Coursing literally does not apply to bosses, there’s no status effect the Pet will not use the attack on the boss, instead it will go into auto attacking if in range.
Since it never actually attacks the boss with it, there’s nothing to even test.

The way to test it, is to hit the boss a number of times with auto attacks to gauge your approximate critical rate you have, then use coursing and for the duration in the skill see if anything changes to autoattacks post coursing.

I realize it does not grip onto it, but if you do have a hunter is there any way you can just be so kind and confirm this so I don’t have to do a hunter myself?

I have two hunters. It doesn’t work, and have had three when including ICBT2.
It has never worked, even in ICBT2 It did not work. The skill intentionally cannot hit bosses.
You have nearly a years worth of information via Reddit and this forum itself (search function OP) stating the exact same, if you do not believe my or the previous posters word, that Coursing does not work.

You’re absolutely free to create a Hunter yourself, you’ll find the exact same results that have been articulated twice in this thread for your benefit.

I had a hunter in icbt2 aswell, I’m asking to make sure no ninja changes was applied.

No need to be so high up on your horse, just trying to get some information that is up to date, not information from a freaking year ago. Thanks.

I’m not high on my horse I played my hunter two days ago.
Less you forget at higher levels my methods of testing on a boss again is to go through more quest lines, or slog through a dungeon (im not wasting exp) to get you 3 seconds of footage.

No ninja change was made but at this point since you’re under the idea that we’re all missing something, just please go and make your Hunter, and do it yourself.

I wanted to save you some time, but your response is for me to go consume more of mine.

I was asking to do it if you happen to be doing daily 130 runs or just doing questing and landing on a boss. I’m not telling you to go go, do it now! I was politely asking if it would be possible. You took it to understand it the way you did not because of how I wrote it, no need to go defensive just because I asked for a confirmation. See you around.

You see that coursing’s debuff doesn’t apply on the boss, it doesn’t show below boss’s hp
i have 53,13% crit rate on the video(with swift step on, taking in consideration 28 critical resistance)

0:18 you can see the debuff from coursing on mob, and when coursing works, the pet get stuck(untill the skill duration finish)

Archer 3 > Hunter > Scout > Falconer > Soon-to-be Cannoneer here.

I like my build, but if I had the choice to repick my ranks, it’d be:

Archer 2 > Hunter > Scout > Rogue > Falconer > Cannoneer

Since having only 1 circles in Hunter, Scout and Rogue, your skills here will be mostly for utility, but once you reach Cannoneer they’ll augment your burst damage greatly. Archer 2 should be able to provide you enough DPS skillset to level up to rank7.

By the way, are you going for PVP or PVE, or both? This build is leaning towards PVP than PVE.

I’m aiming for a PVE build.
I’m not overly commited to having hunter C2 and falconeer C2. I have modified my current build after playing through hunter.

How about this

or

Would a longer Coursing/Snatching duration be harmful towards my damage? (lvl 8 for both)?

I like the first one, though I always prefer getting Archer C2 for the Swift Step crit rate bonus attribute and a much stronger Multishot.

Not sure what you meant, but if you intend to take Hunter C2 instead you’ll also get Retrieve (Single-target PVP/PVE) and Hounding (PVP).

As for the duration of Coursing and Snatching if you level them up, having them last longer is OK on paper (and if they functioned well as described). Gives you more time to chain your DPS skills.

The downside for this though is due to the companion’s buggy AI in the game’s current state, even if the target is already dead the companion will keep performing the skill until its duration expires (sort of stuck in that location). Trying to use other Hunter skills will only be ignored and go on cooldown while the current one is still in duration.

Thanks for proving me wrong, it was very helpful

Is it even possible to juggle a companion as hunter and a falconer at the same time?

I have a companion as just a pet (no hunter), and a falcon as a falconer.
And even though it doesn’t matter, I feed my falconer sometimes because I want that bar.

But I found that no matter what, I can only feed the hawk. The ground companion will never get any meat even if the hawk is full.
So if your actually hunter/falconer, wouldn’t that mean the companion will pretty much have no stamina and lag behind on everything
