Tree of Savior Forum

What gaming company/organization would you trust to handle Tree of Savior properly? ^o.o^

You have murdered International Tree of Savior

Grinding Gear Games.

They work excellent with Path of Exile, the true Diablo III.

Valve. This game is probably too niche for them to even consider though.

trion worlds :3

the guy is delusional

Matchmaking never got a full reset.
Every season, everyone’s mmr is lowered/increased to the average between their mmr and something around silver 4, playerbase never decreased.
League is the most played game in the world as now.

Square Enix? considering how they went all the way to fixing FFXIV (not saying the end result is a good game but at least successful)

Imho square has bet everything they had on remaking their game.
They even made their game free to play until the remake release date, the loss was huge.
Like they legit deleted the game and built it from scratch again in like 2 years, pretty impressive.
Now it’s one of the most played p2p mmo’s.

Yet the problem isn’t really IMC, we’ve basically got the same bugs they have on kTOS.
Hype made them release the game in an alpha-like state, way before the planned release date.

Well they didn’t make the f2p period that long, although I didn’t mind paying.

I respect the remake a lot but they went super safe and made a wow clone which made me quit altogether soon after so…

What I wanted to get at was their communication and timeline. They were being very transparent to the players on what they’re planning to do and what time frame they’ll be delivered. If there’s any change in schedule they’ll also have detailed info on the reasons. That was one of the best communications I’ve seen. Even Riot Games is not at that level (and communication is all Riot has).

Got to agree on this part… maybe i should sub back lol…heard the dark knights over there are better then here =p

They deserved the fans that they have right now… damm japs really know how to treat their fans properly… i mean u really have to respect their culture and the efficiency and pride they take in their work…even though SE did fail once when ffxiv was first released…

but damm they sacrificed everything to bring it up to what it was now…

Mad respects i tell yea…

However,over here…its just…meh…

Just take a look how they treat the players in Ktos…
Anyone on the planet will see, the difference is absurd and abusive.

oh yea forgot about them.

To make a long story short.

  1. Start with Kim’s group to get the art, music, and unique take on classes.

  2. Finish with Valve’s DotA 2 team. They respect hard to balance but interesting mechanics and they find ways to make them work. Don’t build their games for the lowest common denominator. And they have a nearly unlimited budget. And finally a reputation for being one of the best places to work in the business (they get the pick of the litter).

That said valve might just treat the game like half life 3. And cycle through iterations forever trying to meet an impossible standards.

ArenaNet (Guild Wars 2)

pros
-excellent coding
-gigantic palette of user friendly features
-they know how to motivate in long term (world boss hunt rotation, economy management, etc)
-class balancing is better then most games (but very meta based)
-artwork and story telling is good
-api support for 3rd party sites
-skill info of every single skill tells you exactly what it does and they update it by every change

cons
-update frequency is very low
-they definitely have some retards in their company
-will cost more money since they have over 100 employees
-western company might not be able to catch that korean flair in the future
-you cannot flame all the day without consequences =/

Lets be real. I don’t think any legit western publishers would touch this game with a ten foot pole. Blizzard could maybe save this game if they closed it down for a year and threw a ■■■■ ton of money at it, but why would they, they have their own name brands.

I think the only company willing to pick it up at this point is either Nexon who would probably drop iToS and leave KToS. Or Perfect World Entertainment who seems to have this habit of buying dead MMOs for whatever reason.

PWE…

I’ll be honest, I thought they had the staff to do it. I think most of us thought so as well.

But while I would like them to actually host their own game, they can’t if they’re gonna kiss Nexon’s feet.

Though when I think about who could publish them, everyone’s got their own set of pros and cons that wouldn’t particularly benefit the game in the extreme long run. Aeria, Gameforge, OGP and other EU/NA publishers would cash whore the game. The only I could figure is if you kept the bulk of the original team, but threw them in another one with much, MUCH more manpower.

Riot is very popular, but in relation to their game, even I started playing during the S3~S4 timeline, and that was actually a really grand time before the stifling League of Mobility releases. Now generally things have gotten rather…predictable? S5 onwards slowly brought odd design choices that drove people away and that Riot had to repeal a good chunk of them due to player dissatisfaction or just being malignant to the game itself.

I could maaaybe trust the DOTA2 team though. They could make GvG and TBL extremely hardcore and a giant puzzle matchup where actually having Swordsmen could determine the course of the match. But aside that the game should still have it’s unique feel; something that would be lost if given solely to them.

so far, best combi would be Maggie’s Art + Dota2 Team on class balancing + SoundTemp BGM

omg, im having imaginary orgasm

wait, we still have 5fps to worry about… ugh… maybe blizzard/SE can help fix the fps/cpu optimization issue…

the only way to fix FPS is throw out this engine and use something else. Such as unreal or unity.
