How come Hoplite 2 isn’t more popular? I know you have to switch weapon to get the Piercing debuff, but isn’t that better than a filler class like Corsair?

the damage will probably be good, but needs a lot of positioning and weapon swapping. also finestra is useless on that build since you’ll be probably using rapier most of the time
clunky to use.
Spear Lunge > Swap Rapier > Epee garde takes 2± seconds already
and you still have coquille to use, can be either before spear lunge (which means you will swap twice) or after (more duration wasted on spear lunge)
it was quite okay with R7 but for R8, you lose epee garde when you switch to spear so you could only use spear lunge once

i guess imc knew that this combination would be too op, so they made it impossible.
they didn’t actually, first implementation epee garde had 0 sec cd, you could switch back and forth as many times as you want, except for finestra

i like tis class combo with spear lunge + preparation but its look just like a killer boss combo,but a little useless for another propuse. by other side hopli is the only clas who have pirce atacks than u can use with rapier on fencer. and fencer give 15% plus damage with pirce mastery
It’s hard/ impossible to use if you don’t know how to edit your hotkey files. The rotation is easy to pull off once you do that. However still, you could run to animation being stuck rarely from time to time.
Pros right now is that spear lunge is a strong initiator or just a straight up filler when epee is down. Cons: massive fps loss due to sht load of mobs and animation will make it a headache to use spear lunge.
