What do you expect from ToS?

@ Indo people,
Bit off topic, What’s it like to live in Indo?

As far as expect from ToS, I can tell you what I think, what I hope and fear.
What I hope is, that it will have a similar feel to RO for one. I think the 3/4 camera view (or whatever people call it) will go a long way towards achieving that. Another thing I hope is for it to be grindy. I much prefer grinding than quest lvling. But having said that, I would like to see more & better quests than RO had.
I also hope, the bosses are a bit less slow and dumb than they have appeared so far. =x

While IMC does appear to have some great experience behind this project, I fear that ToS may follow the same path as many other games before it, and fail in the important areas. I hope they have learned from the mistakes of those games and are able to do a great job with ToS! I fear some things that I’ve seen so far indicate they may be floundering with game control direction, and beginning to fall back on what they think is a safe bet with cursor click move+ click target… I think this is a bad move and that there are some really game making opportunities being missed if this is the direction control is taking.

I hope that gamepad works really well as I’m super psyched to play ToS with my PS4 controller!!! I think gamepad is a really smart move, for one just look at the steam controller/ console that are being developed by Steam atm. For a game like ToS, having a strong focus on gamepad playability is a really smart move in the current market (and looking to possible future trends) IMO.

I hope there will be a Free for All, open PVP room like there was in RO. Trying to hold people’s hands and over-structure PVP is something so many games do these days. Having objectives and goals and teams and all that is fine, but sometimes people really just want to mess around and not have to do anything… Having a sandpit PVP room where you can just come in and chat or gank, or duel, or watch or whatever you like to do in a PVP environment is something I haven’t seen anywhere since RO and I cant understand why more games don’t have it… I fear ToS will try to conform to the modern norms of PVP game development and force all PVP into some structure or another. I hope they stick to their selling point about player freedom and little to no hand holding as much as possible.

I hope the Auction House doesn’t feel like a boring list like in most games. I hope the crafting and vending systems are really cool. (they look pretty good so far! ^,^)

Hmmm, I think I will stop now… I could go all day XD

hmm expectations eh? i dont want expectation they betray me =V

hopes… nah… the games speak for its self(in a good way) =3

what i want for ToS is become successful =D a game for everyone can enjoy may it be for children or ye old age, rich and poor, boys and girls (and the neuter), the normal and incapacitated (is that the right term for not normal people? idk =l, or maybe for aliens to come! (@_@")

it will become successful! i just know it! i can feel it in my bones =D

I hope, I will find an adventure just like my Ragnarok days. Ragnarok doesn’t have a real quests, but it has so much adventure in it. With many maps ToS offers to us, I hope I can find a new adventure here.

I expect an awesome gaming community in-game.

what I expect is. .
all written here. .

Continuing the discussion from What type of gamer are you? (For ToS):

so yeah, in one way i really want try hard, but the rl will take me back and remind me, you cant eat dirt, so i will stay more casual, but you can be rest assured, i will try to get any information that is available from the game.

I expect ToS to be RO in spirit. To keep a nice aesthetic which we are used to, just graphically improved. I expect grinding to be viable, and for the world to eventually feel a little like RO once did. I expect the quest writing to be at the same quality it was. I expect important choices in the status tree and class tree.

I do not expect it to play the same, I don’t expect it to be as fast (anymore), I don’t expect it to be as free as ragnarok if I’m honest, but I can pray it is and anything else about the game play I don’t expect to be the same.

However above all else, what I want is a great game. Even if it’s nothing like RO, if its just a great game that I can see myself playing for years to come. Then in my mind, it’s done it’s job

  1. To be party-dependent game on mid/end game content.
  2. Strong and balanced PvP on all levels (1v1 2v2 69v69 etc.)
  3. Rewarding grind. (eq, cards, jewels etc.)
  4. HARD MODE for some epic drops or end game bosses
  5. Unable to solo bosses in end game content ****

*** i hate easy end game content - it kills games.

I like that style ^^ Reminds me of vanilla FFXI (except it was early/mid/end content :yum:)

Like most of the guys here i expect the ‘‘spirit of RO’’. Dont misunderstand, i dont expect this to be RO, i want a complete new game, i just expect to having the same fun /social aspect/ and in a overlook the same enjoyment, i really miss that, till 2010 i dont have the feeling this gaming is givin’ me the community, IMCgames, the hype, etc.

I’m hoping for a game that will give the same sort of feeling as RO. Something like…Where the entire game is relevant and not just a rush to mediocre endgame.

In RO, there was always something worthwhile to do at every level. You could devote time to hunting low level monsters for cards or items (useful even at max level - 4 slotted weapons, slotted gear, etc) on new or old characters. With drop rates that were low enough to make you feel sooo lucky to finally get one.
I know many people played pservers so they either didn’t appreciate it or don’t know the feeling, but it’s pretty addictive. And the low drop rates and high grind also led you to spend time making the most optimal equips to kill monsters just a half second faster. That’s something you just wouldn’t waste time on if the only thing that mattered was endgame.

And accomplishments on one character could make it easier to level new or low level characters. Spending that time to upgrade a perfect weapon was worth it, because even if it became obsolete for your main you could use it on another character. Basically it’s what people would call replay value on a console game, yeah?

I’m not really hoping for another RO, I just wish we could finally have another MMO that has some of these features. Somehow it’s been 10+ years? And no other [successful?] MMO has had the good sense to have them. Which is so silly cause it adds SO MUCH MORE incentive to spend more time playing and KEEP playing.
