@ Indo people,
Bit off topic, What’s it like to live in Indo?
As far as expect from ToS, I can tell you what I think, what I hope and fear.
What I hope is, that it will have a similar feel to RO for one. I think the 3/4 camera view (or whatever people call it) will go a long way towards achieving that. Another thing I hope is for it to be grindy. I much prefer grinding than quest lvling. But having said that, I would like to see more & better quests than RO had.
I also hope, the bosses are a bit less slow and dumb than they have appeared so far. =x
While IMC does appear to have some great experience behind this project, I fear that ToS may follow the same path as many other games before it, and fail in the important areas. I hope they have learned from the mistakes of those games and are able to do a great job with ToS! I fear some things that I’ve seen so far indicate they may be floundering with game control direction, and beginning to fall back on what they think is a safe bet with cursor click move+ click target… I think this is a bad move and that there are some really game making opportunities being missed if this is the direction control is taking.
I hope that gamepad works really well as I’m super psyched to play ToS with my PS4 controller!!! I think gamepad is a really smart move, for one just look at the steam controller/ console that are being developed by Steam atm. For a game like ToS, having a strong focus on gamepad playability is a really smart move in the current market (and looking to possible future trends) IMO.
I hope there will be a Free for All, open PVP room like there was in RO. Trying to hold people’s hands and over-structure PVP is something so many games do these days. Having objectives and goals and teams and all that is fine, but sometimes people really just want to mess around and not have to do anything… Having a sandpit PVP room where you can just come in and chat or gank, or duel, or watch or whatever you like to do in a PVP environment is something I haven’t seen anywhere since RO and I cant understand why more games don’t have it… I fear ToS will try to conform to the modern norms of PVP game development and force all PVP into some structure or another. I hope they stick to their selling point about player freedom and little to no hand holding as much as possible.
I hope the Auction House doesn’t feel like a boring list like in most games. I hope the crafting and vending systems are really cool. (they look pretty good so far! ^,^)
Hmmm, I think I will stop now… I could go all day XD
