What build is everyone planning to run first for early access?

Right, but then Highlander becomes useless with only 1 Circle in it. It’s the same problem as before. The only alternative I found is going Pelta at C1, then going you desired class. Or balancing out, like taking 2 Circles of both High and Barb.

That, if you land this hit, though. I really don’t want to be a glass cannon, I consider them worthless without party. So, 2 points in DPE would be enough for me, without also further investing in DOV. That 50% Attack + Skull Swing or +400 from Barb is STILL good, without overtuning it.

Since everyone here is posting builds… I have a predicament.

I’m torn between a few variations on point allocations between Sure Spell and Reflect Shield. Now… things may change, but, my experience prior was that Sure Spell wasn’t that great except potentially for PvP. Reflect Shield generally sucks but actually does offer a slight damage mitigation. Since they removed the Sure Spell effect from Reflect Shield I was forced to mess around a bit and found I didn’t quite like Sure Spell. I know for PvP I should probably spec into it a bit more though.

So my initial build included:

Sure Spell- LV10 (25s Duration, 15s Cool Down)
Reflect Shield- LV7 (55s Dur 41 CD, 5 hits)

But… should I change it up?

Sure Spell- LV 8 (21s Dur 15s CD)
Reflect Shield- LV9 (65s Dur 41 CD, 6 hits)

Or

Sure Spell- LV 6 (17s Dur 15s CD)
Reflect Shield- LV11 (75s Dur 41 CD, 7 hits)

With Sure Spell at only lv6 you are guaranteed 100% uptime if needed (including animation/cast time), but as it is most benefited in PvP you may not be in a position to cast at that moment. Poison ticks also messed with casting back then, idk about now. At Lv10 the additional 10s to re-cast is a nice buffer for continuous uptime. But that’s all the additional points invested earn you, just a little more uptime, no other traits or effects. Although in the other setups Reflect Shield will gain additional hits for more damage reduction. Assuming of course that even in open world PvP I’d be carrying Daino it would make even a little extra padding from Reflect Shield help.

My problem is both skills are situational and benefit the caster only if they are being hit. But in PvE you’re often hit just running through a zone so Reflect Shield would likely get more use from the additional points. Sure Spell only prevents interruption (if I recall you can be interrupted as early as the second you start to move a casting circle, not only for spells with a high channel) while being hit and Reflect Shield only reduces damage a little bit and returning paltry damage back at the attacker.

Wut do? It really is just down to picking which would be more effective even though neither are too important. Still leaning the Sure Spell LV10 route even though I could have 100% uptime with just LV6 (some would argue with LV5 but that doesn’t include animations). Is the extra padding worth it or too situational versus a steady +2 hits on my shield? Oh and I won’t have massive amounts of SPR or anything so the extra points into shield vs sure spell is just for damage mitigation (I think it was ~10% ish or something) and not as a viable damage source.

Thanks for you comments! I will consider change the skill distribution of dragoon and cannoneer according to your advices

Regarding the warlock build…
I also heard the damage of pyro will not be enough in the late game. But as far as I know, pyro3 is the best damage wizard class besides wiz3>ele3. Soc3 might be another option, but I don’t really like the ai as it is right now…
In terms of skills, maybe fireball 10 and flame fround10, rest of the points go into fire wall? I am not entirely sure if I should invest enhanced fire…

I was thinking of going
Archer > QS C3 > Archer C2 > SR > Cannoneer
I’d appreciate some advice.

Also, in case I had some problems with QS due to ping, I was thinking of switching to Wugushi, but I’ve got no Idea how to build one and I’d have to give up on SR’s mobility for Wugushi C3 :frowning:

I want to try this build

Maybe I’m just stupid or I don’t know anything about it…
But I kinda feel like, any build incorporating Rodelero is going to fail at both pvp and pve .-.

Quarrel Shooter is viable or has some cool build?

It was buffed recently if I remember correctly

Nice!

It’s one of the stronger archer builds right now if not the strongest.

I feel like making a Fencer Rodelero, but not sure if C3 worth getting. The main idea was implement all 3 types of damage at their fullest. So Attaque Coquille for pierce attacks, Lunge for Slash attacks and High Kick for Strike attacks. Yet I have a feeling that Fencer C2 will be a better choice, especialy with +2 to fencer skills rapier I will compare Rank 8 with Fencer C3 to decide (Hope they will release rank 8 together at early stage of iOBT). Also I want rodelero for magic immunity while slithering and armor decreasing Shield Push. As I will be a tank in party with Cryo my peltasta and rodelero skills will deal really high damage on frozen enemies, especially buffed with High Kick. I know I may overestimate it, yet I hope buffs will come once) Having a tank with decent damage and utility would be nice.

The thing is Slithering is not good despite what people think
You still get frozen/CC’ed through Slithering, and they have a hard time landing anything since their skills have such a short range + log start ups, that most people can just jump out of them.
Rodels IMO should really just be ignored because its a terrible class
their damage is very low, their only saving grace (high kick) is not even a 100% armor break like the others its a flat rate.
And just about any other class can destroy them in seconds, becuase they straight up win the DPS fight, due to not having incredibly specific times to get a boost and boosts that are actually worthwhile.

Also you can’t do anything while using Slithering, so no dealing damage while using it.
And if your trying to PvP keep in mind that you move REALLY slow when using it, its not like people are gonna sit around waiting for you to walk up to them with slithering…

IT DOSENT EVEN GET +25% BLOCK ATTRIBUTE!
Has, NO dmg, NO tankability, NO utility, NO Mobability and NO presence in PvP unless your only fighting other swordies…

its… (IN MY OPINION) an absolutely terrible class that needs to be buffed or reworked.

This: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/tzboh5dejc/ I guess.

that’s like the worst build i’ve seen on forums or am i missing something

or do you just intend to lvl up and then afk forever?

I agree with some of your points but not with all of them.
I want rodelero as mainly PvE tank/dd for my premade party, not PvP. And yet, while using slithering together with bloodletting you are totally immune to magic damage AND CC, so it has it’s uses (only speed is a problem but I’ve heard you can sprint while slithering, and you won’t be able to compete with mounted enemies damage).

Not sure how high kick works(I bet it just doubles strike damage like other empovering skills, otherwise C3 not worth it), but peltastas armor break is shield push and it’s 230 armor break for (7?) seconds, sure it’s not great but enough against most PvE monsters.

Slithering I will use against magic monsters insted of block after swashbuckling. Also targe smash deals double damage on frozen, and I will be in a party with cryo.

Talking about PvP, they improved Cataphracts animations so I hope Rodelero will be next.

Sure I know it will most probably feel weaker then Highlander in pair with Fencer, but it just fits the playstyle I want to implement with my fencer better. And I’m relying on future buffs when pick it.

So talking about your final conclusion I hope to deal good damage utilizing all those increase damage effects and proper armor types, I have enough tankability from Pelt C2, slitskills and fencer, lots of utility from skills and possibly even great PvP potential in future (IF they intended it to be a PvP class and will buff it’s PvP power).

Yet as I said I might drop it if it won’t have any synergy with R8 classes nor Fencer C3. I just feel like peltasta C1 is not enough for party tank (but great for solo/PvP) and it brings me a better utility then Highlander C2 for several reasons.

Going Peltasta C2 Highlander C3 Fencer C1 is also a possible way, so depending on new released classes/balance changes I might pick High C3 Fencer C1 R8, Rod C3 Fencer C1 R8 or Rod C2 Fencer C3 as my tank.

I will raise my High/Barb(not decided yet) as solo character anyway, so I will be able to swap it for tank midway if needed. That’s why I plan to start with Pel Rod. Just want to give him a chance and try personally if it’s as bad as people say.

Looks like you tried teally hard to pick the worst abilities of every class :frowning: . Honestly I have strong doubts even for classes choice.

Why not bash/thrust maxing?)

any reason why?
