What are your thoughts about rogue class?

Hi everyone, Im interested in this class but I never paly TOS before… So what do you think about this class? Is strong in high levels ? And what about pve and pvp ? thx

Rogue is pretty interesting, since there’s a such thing as weapon swapping. You should be able to use some ranged attacks before the enemy target reaches you, then you can switch to a melee weapon and use your Rogue skills.

It’s mainly personal preference if someone finds it strong, especially when it comes to PvE or PvP. You’ll find this preference over trying to actually play the class, not just analyzing skill simulators.

In my own opinion, as long as you have Scout C1 somewhere before you choose Rogue you should be somewhat fine.

I’ve never played the game so i can’t tell you if it’s good or not.
You should still go for it, it’s a beta test and we have a whole month to test things out.
In addition you can test things out with this skill simulator (if you didn’t know about it already):

I figured I’d send you an example of a Rogue build.

Click on “Copy Build” near the top of the simulator. You can use my build as reference, and then change whatever you want to fit your own needs or preferences that fit more to how you’d want and play like.

Ranger doesnt work with rogue.

Not even with weapon swap?

Ranger used to be only able to use their skill with 2-H bow, but long had IMC changed it. So Ranger does work with Rogue, now.

Actually let me rephrase that. Your build is a prime example how Not to ever build a rogue unless you want to gimp yourself. Your steady aim at lvl 3 is basically a debuff, because life is too easy otherwise I guess. Not to mention neither of ranger skills actually complements rogue in any way possible - and that is what I ment @Ltb_Regen .

A QS gives you a stun and good damage vs plate enemies.
A hunter gives you a stun, debuffs, increases your uptime, dps.

Both provide you a situation where you can backstab.

Rogue skills themselves I don’t agree with, if you’re not investing max into vendetta then don’t take it at all and invest in the OP lachrymator and more sneak hit. It’s clunky to use but the buff counterpart is powerful. It’s only powerful if you actually go the long way and invest though.

So yeah my point being your build’s only synergy is full draw allowing backstab to damage 2 opponents instead of one. If anything it’s misleading - unless you were trolling at which point fair game.

The thing that drawn most people to go Rogue is the ability to do well in close range situation while also able to do ranged damage from a distance, thus Feint, Lachrymator, and Backstab became the spotlight in Rogue skill set.

However, that doesn’t halt anyone to build a mostly ranged Rogue, investing mostly on the buff skills of Rogue instead and relying attacking skills from other classes before Rogue.

As for @LoliLicker build, even for a ranged Rogue, you pretty much need skills that can insta-cast and catch the enemy off-guard , pretty much so you even invest a Rank in Scout for Camouflage. (bonus if that skill have CC in it or have very big damage)

All for all, let your imagination go wild while still minding the synergies between classes.

Oh, and @lajkonikes, ToSbase have edited their translation for the attribute for Feint. Not a good idea to invest on Feint too much, I guess.

I don’t mind people trying a range rogue, just have some synergy in there. His build is basically throwing away one rank of skills for the fun of it, debuffing himself on top just to make his life harder.

If someone wants to build a range rogue, by all means. Just don’t gimp yourself in the process.

@Ltb_Regen it’s still a very good skill otherwise, just sadly didn’t make rogue into this massive killing machine xD oh well, it was too good to be true ^^

I see, and this build here: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/cdc7xor0m3/

It is good ?

Its the default build I’d say. You might want to reconsider vendetta if youre not going to party a lot. The skill itself is clunky, slow casting and is there to provide you and your party - admittedly - a big buff depending on your patk, which I have no doubts will be high.

Or simply play it as is and reset if you dont like vendetta.

And about the attributes, full dex ?

For a rogue I’d go 4str : 1 dex and pump con later on when youd be going to pvp
