What am I doing wrong with leveling?

So I wanna level fast because there are soooo many classes to try.
I’ve read so many guides on fast leveling, but I just can’t do it.

I followed Unlocked’s guide on where to grind, but my damages are so low takes me forever to kill a monster.
I try to do dungeons and sialuai, but the queue time is sooo long, sometimes even no party.
I try doing quests, sooo much walking that waste alot of time.

I am currently lv204 A2-QS3-Falconer1, what should i do?

Thanks

You can always solo dungeons and use clear vouchers. I used multipliers and one clear vouchers then bought a dungeon reset, repeat. Usually, you will have enough money to get multipliers and clears to do again. Also have a x8 tome and cookies. Team level and token also helps.

Sadly all the exp events are over and letitia’s cubes are out.

Last week you could stack +150% from fortune cookies, +50% from firecrackers, +100% from lucky anvil event and pets would give multiply tokens, resets and fortune cookies all the time. Letitia’s cube also dropped instance reset price to only 500k in my server, which made it stupidly easy to level characters. I managed to level 3 characters to 330 in under 4 days!

The idea remains the same, but it’ll be much harder to level now. Try to buy an instance reset and make a 8x tome, multiply tokens will be too expensive now to be bought. Queue the dungeon in a peak hour and if you can do all 6 runs in under an hour you might get ~30 lvls.

If you have a high level friend willing to help you, you can match in party with him so he’ll be lvl 300+ in a lvl 200 dungeon and able to clear things really quick. If you can match 2~4 players with only your high level friend that’s the best way to do the dungeon. You’ll get slightly less exp bonus from automatch but exp will only share between you two instead of 5 players (in short, you’ll effectively get more exp than normal automatch). Other players can’t be using automatch, though.

If you can’t craft tomes or buy resets the solution would be questing, but it’s quite slow (should take you 5 days to get 330 if you play a lot a day).

I always felt like the first character you shouldn’t rush. Take your time exploring and questing so you get a better feel for the game as a whole (buying pardoner blessing makes it fast anyway)…This will also let you get a bunch of map exploration completed, which you can use for exp cards from wings of vaivora on later characters to skip a lot of levels.

If it’s your first character, I’m afraid there aren’t many shortcuts for you to level right now (a whole bunch of exp events just ended…).

Or just go to top grinding spots for each level range (find a sage friend to portal you to each area), buy a strong blessing (and maybe cafrisun armor set), spend some TP on 8 exp tomes to craft an 8xp tome, and you’ll be smooth sailing for like an hour.

Any guide that tells you to grind is bad. Dungeons are mandatory, buy a couple megaphones to shout and let people know when you are queuing, though I wonder what time you’re queuing as the queue times have actually been pretty quick in the last month.

Since you are DPS, you should really be questing. Being that you just hit rank 7, you should begin looking to do quests which offer you level 11 cards at this point. Do not burn the cards until you run out of quests to do. If you do this, while doing your 3 dungeons every day, you should go from rank 7 to 8 in a couple days.

Walking is not a waste of time, you are doing quests inefficiently. The best way is to download the addon that shows all quests on a map (sorry, forget what it’s called), but it gives you the option in your quest log to “show all available quests.” Pick up quests which have NPCs clustered together, do not turn them in until you are done with all of the ones you’ve picked up, TP back. When you are questing, fully explore all the maps as you hit the areas for your quests, this will allow you to only have a small % left when you finish the quests on any given map. Talk to the Wings of Vivora NPC to pick up your map explore cards.

With questing, before the advent of 8x tomes, I was able to level characters from 0 to rank 7 in about a week, only playing a few hours a day. This was, however, after struggling with my first character–the best thing you can do to level is understand what’s working and what’s not. All your subsequent alts will be very fast (team level will help).

edit: To clarify, grinding is only absolutely untenable post stat change patch. The job exp from all mobs outside dungeons was nerfed into the ground, making the leveling process deceptively slow. On the other hand, job exp from quest cards remains unchanged, and dungeon job exp was buffed through the roof.

Thanks for all the replies. This is not my first char, but it is the first char that got to that high (rest are like 150-ish)

To Csiko, actually, im only rank 6. And i know what BetterQuest is, i do use it. Sorry i probably sounded like a noob thats why u had to explain the map completion thing XD but im familiar with questing.

Im not too familiar with this x8 exp tome thing actually. Can it be bought by free TP?

Btw, other than the 2-3 runs in sialua mission, how many other dungeons do you typically run in a day?

You can use your free tp on it, but it costs more than that (I think 9 or 10 TP per tome?)

If you buy 8 of them, they can be crafted into an 8x tome, which gives 300% more monster exp, making grinding much faster than questing for exp (though to use it to its full extent you’d want to use them in a dungeon).

The pirate event ongoing right now can also give you tomes for 30 wooden boards (3 days). You should never use a single tome by itself, always save up to 4 minimum to craft a 4x or save 8 to craft an 8x (or 2 4x’s). Even timed exp tomes can be crafted into permanent exp tomes.

You are limited to 2-3 dungeon runs a day (3 with token). To bypass this, you need to buy the reset vouchers (market, or TP).

Kind of sad, but the fastest way to level when there are no events going on (or IMC hasn’t given any free things for compensation) is to use TP to buy exp tomes, craft them to an 8x, and do a combination of dungeons, siauliu, and grinding as a last resort. You can choose to also buy dungeon reset vouchers to expedite this process, or just level bit by bit every day when dungeons reset.

EXP tomes are limited to one hour, but they don’t count down when you are queueing for a dungeon/instance, or are in town (Klaipeda, Orsha, Fedimian).

try purchasing blessing and sacrament buffs from pardoners in town. they give a lot of damage increase for your characters.

check your equips to keep them up to lvl and make sure you aren’t wearing a lvl 15 wep or something.

try to complete 100% exploration on the maps you go to. this will give you exp cards depending on map lvl when you talk to the wings of Vibora npc at orsha/klaipeda

definitely do your daily dungeons and maybe sauliau. don’t expect to max lvl within a day if you aren’t playing most of the day. just take it slow and immerse yourself in the gorgeous art and music. there is no need to rush lvl, but if that’s what you want then there’s no problem too.

as for grind zones, you could try HG (hunting grounds) areas. these areas are of varying levels and offer great mob density at fast respawn rates.

those are just off the top of my head because I’m at work atm but I’m probably missing alot. lvling in TOS is extremely fast compared to before so don’t worry if you don’t max a character early. the more higher lvl characters you make, the faster the other new characters you make will lvl due to teamexp/items/silver.

also, I summon @Unlocked

Thanks. Sacrament and blessing help a ton, but blessing lasts too short…

I guess i will just take it slow with my first char, finish map explorations for my alts.

I wonder if alts would be much faster? I know map completion helps alot, but team level doesnt do much since i cant grind effectively

One of the easiest ways to increase team level is to level your pets :grinning: You can always swap your pet to whoever is doing stuff and getting experience. As long as you are getting experience, so does your pet. My first pet maxed at 330 before I had any character over 275.

  • Get the Addon Manager.

  • Use it to download “Better Quest”.

  • Use that to find all the quests you’ve missed.

  • Do all quests.

  • Buy 3 to 5 megaphones each day with free TP.

  • Shout that you need people for your dungeon.

  • Then do your dungeon 3x runs every day.

  • Then do Siaulia runs after your dungeon runs, shout for this too.

  • Go questing again, maybe even do 5x daily quests for EXP next to Siaulia.

  • Still not tired? Well go farm some silver, buy a better weapon and grind if you like.

There’s almost no need to grind at all anymore, unless it’s your first character and even still. There’s so many quests everywhere and dungeon levels are well paced.

Also always shout for your dungeon, especially if you want to do it quickly. Stop being lazy and expecting someone else always do it for you. Why do people just go to the entrance and expect 4 other players to show up in less than 20 minutes? We’re limited to 3 per day. That’s the main reason you can’t just “queue your way to max” unlike in some MMO’s. Oh and because this is a niche and near dead MMO too.

To artemis: you know what’s even better? Having a hawk as a falconner to level up team level simultaneously with companion XD

To celgaming: that’s a good daily menu, thanks. Also, is this game near-dead?!
