Tbh I think its my fault, b/c lately ive been getting pretty bored with FFXIV, the usual nonsense where im capped on everything by day2 of the week watching paint dry the next 5 days so I occasionally get the itch to play ToS.
When you dont play for a month or two you start to forget about how unstable the servers are and that every patch note reads like this;
patch 148.6
new gacha boxes added
new companion added
new premium emotes added
new premium hairstyle added
new premium contact lens added
misc.
fixed a minor visual glitch on Hunter’s growling skill
I logged in today, or tried to anyways to use my free tp rq and glance at the mb, I like to laugh at the rmt heavyweights like Kirito constantly buying and selling silver through 5million pebbles etc and I caused this latest server meltdown. The universe is reminding me why I left after 2,700+ hours.

To be fair it’s closer to week 41 of open beta. I doubt it’ll have improved much by the year mark anyway.
Ya as amusing as it is to bash IMC its also sad, this game would shine so much with just a fraction of compentence from the people running it. If they could just handle the most basic functions such as regulary scheduled maintenance and server resets things might be different. The reality is, since April 3 out of every 4 maintenances have been followed by additional maintenances b/c for every 1 thing they fix, they break an additional 3. IMC is the shady mechanic of online games, the slimeball that rotates your tires then loosens the fan belt.

I need more likes for the OP. I left after 2700 hours too, and I keep coming back from time to time with a hope and a prayer. And then I remember why I despise the game as much as I love it—if only this company had any clue.

no chance for anyone to do their 290 and saalus 
IMC is such trash, the entire programming and dev team needs to be replaced. Rest assured, the servers will crash and game runs like ■■■■ but new tp items will come out without a problem. Total backwards way of doing business. Usually people have to be happy with a product to invest money into, not invest money then hope for the best. IMC 0/10 really get your ■■■■ together.
Try being us, we all bought the founder’s packs back in April before we knew IMC was a ponzy scheme, IMC sold us all the founder’s packs and then resold us the same packs TWICE b/c it was the only way players could get tp b/c it took them months at the original launch to get the ability to buy tp implemented. So we all had to rebuy stuff we did not need just to get the small bundles of TP included in them. This has a been a shi* show from day1, alot of people are just now starting to realize how inept IMC really is.

They can also demand from developers a fulfillment of their obligations.
Look at jTOS and see how service is different. Yes having a publisher won’t fix balance issues but it can fix most of the issues we are currently having.
That won’t ever happen though because IMC likes free cash they earn effortlessly from iTOS.

listen, the founders packs were the least of my issues back then, I was a lv280 catagoon ontop of being swindled, I didnt realize swordsman were terribad until the end of May, those were dark dark days

1200 hours man. this game had some badass potential. I stopped playing around the same time as you. mid to end of November. I don’t anything incredibly earth shaking is gonna happen here. I do come by and read the forums, cause if I can learn what the general demographic is feeling about the game, I can decide whether or not its good to come back. Not a lot of people seem genuinely happy with the state of the game.
