Weapon Type Change and Market

I bought a weapon off the market that said “Class Tree Change (Available for 30 days)” at the bottom. Then I took it to the NPC to change it and it wouldn’t let me change it.

I know the weapon type change NPC says you can’t change weapons that have been traded, but the weapon text on the market says it CAN be changed until after you buy it.

It’s been pretty explicit that you had to have obtained the item before Rebuild.

Some people are claiming otherwise for some items, but you buy items with that expectation at your own peril.

Where was it explicit? It doesn’t even mention it on the Class Tree Change event page. The only time it says something about it is when you talk to the weapon change NPC and even then you can’t be sure if it’s talking about personal trades or all trading because it shows in the market as still being able to be changed.

It’s extremely misleading and I’m just disappointed I had to spend a lot of silver just to test if something will do what it says it will do.

at least your sacrifice wont be in vain, we now know for sure that you cant trade it if you bought it after rebuild.

To tell you the truth, most of us who diligently read the forum already know that fact week before rebuild patch, some people post that info from their ktos player friend to here.

even itos has made official statement at developer blog, at december 2018

and mentioned again at power of goddess event info https://treeofsavior.com/page/news/view.php?n=1585

You know a weapon that had been traded cannot be exchanged but you proceeded buying one from “market trading”?

It’s bad communication - they should not show the Weapon Type Change tag on items that are not owned by the owner themselves.

You have to be cautious about anything and everything with IMC. Communication is one of their weaknesses. I’d advise always reading about anything to do with patches and/or events, as nothing ever works the way as shown or expected, even the stuff you read in patches can likely be wrong too - they’re THAT bad.

Don’t worry Kiai, it is not your fault that is doesn’t tell you these things in-game and that you didn’t feel like reading/deciphering an entire book on patch notes before trying to enjoy your free time.
