Tree of Savior Forum

We need more fun events like this!

Tree of Savior needs more events for fun. not just for getting equipment or money—for good old plain fun.

Was bored with waiting for Missions so we decided to have some obstacle courses!

There are several actually, they are called gimmicks.

Gather orbs while avoiding moving ‘enemies’ (Pac-man), Memory game, dodging course, guess the number.

With attractive rewards too, like shards / talt for upgrading guild.

Oh yeah, but those aren’t things you play with other people. We need Tree of Savior ninja warrior or Pawn Wars (pvp while transformed as a Pwndel) and stuff like that

Seems like tower defense type of pvp. I doubt we will have this kind of activities in the future, knowing IMC for year they only produce salt and frustration intentionally and unintentionally.

Yeah, I thought it would be cool for some events to feel like an enjoyable game rather than a chore I guess.

Have brought it up more than once in the past.

Fun.

People play to have fun.

If they are not having fun. They play something that does give them fun.

We are lacking a lot of things that should exist purely for the sake of fun. They seemed to understand fun was important at one point, cardbattle was pointless, silly, but at least a piece of side entertainment and generated social fun in towns. Then they made cards worth-something so /cardbattle ended forever.

We’re severely lacking side-entertainment and a heap of traditional mmo features that are typically just-for-fun. I’m pretty sure we were once told that marriage would be in the game and that never appeared. Would have been nice to give players a location to host weddings, and Priests a unique skill to perform the wedding ceremonies, have them last several minutes, announce to town or server, etc. Give benefits like teleport to partner, or a revive partner skill outside of combat on a 1 hour CD. Require a wedding cake to be crafted for the wedding, maybe the rings too but cake is more important. Etc. Make divorces cost a buttload of silver.

There’s a giant mountain of things that can bring more general-fun and entertainment to the game.

I fully agree.

We need something to relieve the stress from DPK farming and all acquired ToSalt somehow.

Most of the times, we’re just here farming and grinding for what? Better gear so we can grind and farm some more. All of that is cool and basically what MMOs are for, but I feel the social and silly nonsense is needed sometimes.

Yeah, I used to love Card Battles—heck I still play them now, screw losing a few cards lol

I actually feel kinda differently.

I feel like the original intentions of MMOs wayback were to be worlds, for people to live in and have fun in. An adventure within the world was also a thing, but being a player in an artificial world populated by thousands of other players - that was always the draw people had.

Over time this conceptual idea has been diluted down to a set of homogenised combat and progression mechanics with the concept of being a person in an artificial world being sidelined to endless progression.

One part of tos that remains a big draw for me is that, aside from the linearity, it has a strong focus on its world. It is unique. Almost everything has a place in it. A lot ties well into everything else.

But then here we are, unable to just live in it and be entertained by interaction with other players for fun. Because no focus has been made upon making for-fun mechanics, making entertainment.

Meanwhile Rocket League is a game where toy cars with rocket boosters push a ball into the opponent a goal. With wildly higher populations tos could dream of. Not that I’m saying it should be emulated or copied, but I’m giving it as an example for its understanding of a sense of fun.

Tos needs more fun. All these Revelators must do SOMETHING to blow off some steam. I’m pretty sure if they lived in this depressing apocalyptic world full of death and destruction they would off themselves long before the demons would without something for entertainment.

Good point, I should’ve said MMORPG, specifically those with classes like Ragnarok and all those of the same vein.

Overall, I think what really made people love these kinds of games is the social and silly aspects of it—they didn’t contribute to your gear or riches, but they were pure fun.

Lol, true. Sometimes I find myself paying attention to the quest lines and boy, does it get depressing.
