Tree of Savior Forum

We need a full fairplay policy/rules update

after the RTM policy update a lot of players had been baned, some for a staff mistakes and some others for true reasons.
anyway here in the forum few players have made some tread like the guy who say that he have 30 counts for example. and he have a point. nobody say that use multiple counts or virtual machines or macros or any external program its a fault.

I was banned once due the mistycal cube exploit and like this guy I was anoyed because nobody say that open cubes multiple time was a fault i thought that these thay we would have a rollback.

like that when the drop on hunting ground was broken tons of players exploit the drop to make items and only few players was punished while like 1000 players was rewarded with letitias cubes and a lot of tp stuff even if they have exployed that “drop event” and they keep the gritched items

the true is that IMC used to have a soft policy about glitchers and exployers and chage the RTM policy and ban players who are using external programs need a code of “fair play” for every userd instead the actual code of "do it under your own risk"

You probably don’t remember clicking the “agree” button on the terms of service when you first signed up, but you could have read them before, y’know, clicking that you agreed to them.

I remember but like the policy are updather like on others programs/games they wouldd be shared again and put on agreement again. i accpet thath terms 2.5 years ago and i’m specting on every update but the only policy that i saw are on the F.A.Q section where said that " do it under you r own risk "

I don’t think rules and policies in ToS need to be changed or replace. The rules and policies are good enough. However the people and the system to carry out the rules and policies are having problems. The biggest thing is that the dev still keep creating exploitable mistakes in every patch. You cannot exploit if there is nothing to exploit.

i dont mean to change the anithing, i just want a appropriate report of the rules.
when I come to play the policy agreetmend say some like " the staff can ban you for any justified reasson who disturb the game experience" i have been asked a lot of times because dont see any change on the rules but when the first problem with bots come they say that use macros its a baneable thing and use 3rd person program its a fault only if you are using macros so tecnically you can use virtual machines an play with multicounts ( or that was an answer that i get from a ticket the last octover)
but now i saw so many players with 3rd programs playing without any care. like a guy from a guild soldier from SA he play with an entire party of buffer/heler and even a corsair on nazarene tower farming and keeping one spot and that botters my game experience but i cant report him if i cant have a proff that he are using macro program (instead if i have the proff maybe he could never been punished)

The rules are in place, I think what you’re asking for is someone to guide your moral compass. No company is really gonna do that for you.

In almost every situation like this, it’s a “man this seems like it could be exploitative in some way” kind of thing. If you think it is, it probably is.

league of legends and blizzard do. maybe im barely lost but if your sayt that “the rules are in place” where i found that rules ?

A lot of companies keep a tight lip when it comes to things such as multi boxing and account sharing.
While most of the time they are technically against the rules and could get you banned, they don’t go out of their to do such unless given a reason.
Yes even blizzard have as far as I know never given a straight answer to if multi boxing is allowed, while it is against the terms of service people who multibox = more subscriptions, so they would almost be silly to ban people who do.
Of course if that person causes a nuisance by say greifing people in pvp with his 40 shaman accounts then blizzard can swoop and say, that’s against the rules.
That’s why you’ll never get a straight answer, they prefer to leave it up to their discretion.

If you do not agree with all of the terms of this agreement, you are not permitted to use or access the GAME.

You need to report any game errors, bugs and other game play issues to IMC Games. You shall not abuse them for your own benefits nor to cause grievances to others, and pass this information to others who may abuse them for their benefits.

You shall not abuse or exploit abnormal AI, items or quests to obtain illicit gains.
You shall not engage in selling or buying the following via real life monetary transaction: accounts, in-game items, in-game currency or other materials deemed inappropriate by IMC Games.

IMC Games reserves the right to ban any user from the Game without refund or compensation.

Feigning ignorance won’t help anyone. All rules are there and the moment you click “Enter” in the server select screen, you’re in agreement to these rules. It was about time the culture of “you can do anything you want in ToS and not get banned” came to an end. The witch hunt must continue and be expanded to Necrobots in a more effective way than kicking and temporarily banning them.

i hope the same.
but anyway they miss that part about “ignore or misunderstanding of the rules don’t justified a fault” and since the CB i only remember this 2 parts:

You shall not continuously act in a way to disrupt other players’ gameplay.

IMC Games reserves the right to close, temporarily or permanently, any user’s account without advance notice as we deem necessary. Furthermore, we reserve the right to delete all user accounts or inventory of characters as warranted.
IMC Games reserves the right to ban any user from the Game without refund or compensation.
IMC Games reserves the right to change the prices of items in the Game, fees or billing methods at any time.

and now the user terms are more heavy, maybe because they add some lines on every “big problem”

if RTM are nromed by this:

You shall not engage in selling or buying the following via real life monetary transaction: accounts, in-game items, in-game currency or other materials deemed inappropriate by IMC Games.

the fair play are normed by those:

You shall not continuously act in a way to disrupt other players’ gameplay.

You may not engage in any usage or distribution of illegal programs unrecognized by IMC Games.

You may not acquire illicit gain through the means of deception or unfair methods.

You may not engage or attempt to engage in any activities that might hinder the natural progression of the Game.

but almost the half of the players have do any of these without a punishment and even some one have been rewarded, especially by this “You shall not abuse or exploit abnormal AI, items or quests to obtain illicit gains.” in the “hunting drop event”

and also may be its need to be more clar with some stuff like illegal programs unrecognized by IMC Games. what kind of programs are aloweed ? what addons? what programs are “baned” ?

Use your own common sense, most people playing this game aren’t kids that needs to be told every “yes, do that” and “no, you can’t”.

I’m pretty sure you, and anyone else, can know which type of actions and programs gives you unfair advantages over other players. If it’s something you really need to stop to ask it’s most likely gray area (use at your own risk) or disallowed.

They don’t. At most they will list a few common frequent asked questions. Just like IMC listed Auto Hotkey, VMware and etc when listing ban reasons on that ktos announcement.

Actually, making an extensive list of disallowed programs might have the opposite effect (people gets to know more tools/names and end up using compared to if they never found out), lol.

i’m thinking on new players who see others use programs and farming witout any care of the rules I can answer by my own actions and I’m not afraid because since the exploit of the mystical cube I’m care about the the way that imc implement they punishment so I never use any kind of program withou asking before here in the forum. but others players older than me justify their actions(rtm) and the used of virtual machines, afk farmers has a way to beat the whales who use the same kind of programs. or they dont have the time to farm has a korean because they work and “because that is a crime without punishment”. until now I guess.

https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/game-info/get-started/summoners-code/ i dont play lol for long time (s3) but when they come to sa the code was traslated and also have some aparts about be a fairplayer witdout cheating and all thos stuff. i heard some like that on WoW but I used to play on a custom server so i never read the official code.

everybody heard about hook64 before the problems that they do and every programer know almost one kind of virtual machine and how to use it. your own fell on contradictions when you say that everyone know who is bad but say what kind of program is bad make them use more.

That’s actually true about new players. But I think it mostly pushes new players away rather than leading them to think on cheating their way.

And about those guidelines, while they’re nice they don’t go down a technical path, unless it’s a frequent question. It’s kind of what you expect players to follow, not covering every corner cases of dos and don’ts.

Also, sorry… but I must say that this sentence is actually one good example of what I’m telling you lol

It can be better for the company to keep technical details to a minimum or they might get people using tools they might never even find on their own. It’s not like everyone that knows they exist will use, but in a more generic sense, sometimes you might itch someone’s curiosity for free for being too technical about rules or way too many detailed “don’ts”.

It’s like the effect of “don’t use /tts on discord!” and getting the whole server using the command they never found about before.

but imc do
this is a part of the terms: Furthermore, any of following activities is forbidden by IMC Games and you may not engage or attempt to engage in any of the followings:

  • Using debugging software such SoftICE and Visual Studio etc.
  • Opening the Game’s client or resources via debugging software.
  • Using a memory viewer to look inside the memory occupied by the Game.
  • Altering the memory occupied by the Game via a memory viewer or an editor.
  • Snatching and recording the inputs from keyboards and mice.
  • Monitoring or saving the network packets corresponding between the Game and the Server.
  • Attempting to connect to the Game’s Server through the means other than the Game client provided by IMC Games.
  • Unpacking the data and resources included in the distributed client and repackaging them to make separate files.
  • Altering the contents of the files in the distributed client.
  • Renaming the names of the files in the distributed client and replacing them with other programs.
  • Creating software that poses as a part of the distributed client to gain personal information of other people.
  • Using a program that can be used in hacking even if the program in question are commercially available or a part of an Operating System such as a key grabber and macro programs.
  • Approaching other people’s system or clients via other unlawful means or impersonating personal information of other people.

they don say any name of program but tecnically if you put any “technical word” on google you will find a program to do that

i’m not a programer so i really dont understand the half of those programs but they say on the user conditions and has i say for me its not very clear and maybe its easy say “virtual machines are forbidden”

you can enable /tts on a server or even enable just for a “kind of user” thats a bad example.

a better one. players use virtual machines afk farmers and buy silver on markers because its more easy than farm. virtual machines are “allowed” and tons of those programs are free people dont use hook 64 because they need to pay to use it, it was a perma ban program easy to found/detect and it was more anoying than afk farmers ( and i suppust that it needs more programer skills)

One example of how things can go wrong:
“Let’s block all VMs!”

“Oh, wait, we blocked a good part of our playerbase that uses VM in a legit way with Linux + GPU Passthrough, RIP”:

Then, if they go and list “these are the allowed VM setups you can use for GPU Passthrough” in way too many details, people will just cheat on those VM setups instead of using it in a legit way.

You get most famous ones or something of the sort. That’s one of the reason companies usually have generic rules.

Especially when less known tools (or even famous) might have legit uses but could be used for cheating, like the GPU Passthrough case. If you put a stance “no ban”, people will cheat with it and argue, if you put a stance “ban”, people who use it for legit means will complain. It’s better to be on generic/exceptions side instead of detailed/technical when it comes to what to use or not.

thats the reason why the companies used to put a new “Contract term” on each important patch (blizzard do like that.)
because the companny have the responsibility of improble their game to run without any kind of incompatibility and the users have the responsability of read the terms and the policy updates and that is what I’m asking for.

we have the responsibility of follow the rules and they have the responsibility of punish anyone who broke that rules but they didn’t so someone stop following the rules. and since that everything is goind down untill the RTM update so a “fairplay rules update” is the next step

Javier, your account is gone. Get over it. You didn’t buy enough TP to earn untouchable status, so they’re not going to give it back.

hahaha xD thats funny :haha::haha::haha:

i thougth the same about a lot of tread in the forums of player saying “i was baned for a mistake i only play with 1123123123 counts whats wrong?” or " “my friend was baned by a mistake pls help him” and that stuff

do you imagine that all thos tread was made by only 1 guy? (me (?))

#plottwist

That has nothing to do with you getting caught red-handed. You’re done.

then it’s time to go discreetly
