I decided to touch my squire peltasta again today, and when I tried the skill umbro thrust, it now only applies a 2 seconds amor break debuff opposed to the 10 seconds+ back then as I can remember when I was leveling it, anyone know when this change happened?
UPDATE: I tried leveling the skill to lvl 5, hoping that it would go up to 10 seconds. Opposed to my previous lvl 1 umbo thrust which was only level 1. But it’s still stuck to 2 seconds

increasing the level only increases the damage of the skill.
This was changed during the combat system rework.
yeap… Nerf on [Armor Break] came with the ‘‘Combat System Updatde’’.
That was the most ridiculously nonsense nerf I’ve ever seen.

With the new calculation of rebalance, high duration real armor break would be rather OP since even enemies with ‘low’ defense can reduce your damage by quite a lot.
But then IMC apparently doubly nerf armor break skills to just be 10% defense reduction, making them basically crap given the new duration that was done to balance how strong a 100% defense reduction would be.
some are saying that the armor break is -30%. I hope it is because 3 sec duration is pretty short and there are a lot of other -10% armor debuffs that last longer
All former ‘armour break’ skill durations were nerfed to 3s.
Highlander3 skull swing, Pelt umbo, Cannoneer cannon blast attribute, cleric deprotected zone sword attribute was affected too.
Appraiser armour %reduction on devaluate has the longest duration in game. Next is bokor hexing %mdef reduction. These skills are worth to use because the duration allows you to follow up.

For those that don’t know, this effect turns into an armor break at 10 stacks. This is also the only armor break that lasts 10s (aka more than 3s) atm. Not sure if oversight or intended given IMC’s track record.
No clerics use swords though and I don’t think anyone would weapon swap to autoattack.

so glad i didnt go for pelt3 ROD3 murm…both got nerfed hard and not even worth getting to circle 3 compare to other options
it’s still a decent enough debuff for parties.
Umbo thrust still have 2 overheats:
With 6 seconds of armor break you can chain 3 scutums and 2 butterfly more than enough to vaporize most of the bosses of the game…
Pelt 3 still have really good options and have really high damages under cassis crista. Umbo thrust and Butterfly do tons of damage and Umbo blow deals heavy damages on staggered targets.
It is just the Rod murmi that got heavily nerfed…
perhaps a better build now is p3>hop3>murm. does the spears 20% against medium monsters add much damage?
