Was I dealing with so much sh*t taking my PVP Swordie to 270+ that I'm actually enjoying leveling my Archer alt now?

It seems weird, but for the first time in months, I’m actually enjoying questing with an alt again (NOTE: I’ve experienced leveling all 4 classes). Of course, this only starts once you get past the bot-infested lv.50-below maps.

This is my 2nd Archer actually. The first one with the most messed up build (A3 H1 Sc1 F1 Cannon1) was my original main (and 1st toon from OBT) which I stopped playing at lv.228. I rushed him to that level with quests from 100+ going unattended. Eventually I just got bored because grinding just isn’t my thing. Also, f*cked up build.

It was then that I decided to main a PVP-centric Sw3 Cata3 Dragoon which was a pain to level IMO post-200 maps. PVP was fun with it though. Not really much for PVE especially when you’re nearing cap as it really isn’t a good farmer except for lowbie stuff.

I’ve had a few other alts reaching 100+ (Fletcher, Diev, PelHopCata, PyroLinker) which I used to play on the side whenever I get bored with the Swordie main.

Anyhoo, just thought I’d share.

ps my Swordie is actually 265 but I already have enough cards (~lv.278?) to ready him for R8 once needed.

Question for you:

###What was the most painstaking class/build you had to level? How hard was it?

Because archer has the easiest time leveling. When you get Scout 1 all quest is like a walk in the park.

Ahhh this… Two Fencers later, when I returned I made a QS3>Fletcher3, and I actually find the game fun again. :stuck_out_tongue: Enough that I am also making a Scout, and plan on experimenting with mage classes more. Swordies are a pain in the arse but forever my first wuv. xD

Makes sense. I guess that was what I should’ve done with my 1st toon (though I still messed up with the build).

My Fletcher did follow the known A2 R1 Sc1 build but for some reason I really didn’t enjoy leveling it compared to the new one [A2 H1 Sc1] now (they’re almost in the same level).

Has something changed with the game somehow that might have affected this? I don’t know. Maybe things will change as I progress with the new toon.

I was originally planning to follow the Scout power-leveling guide but somehow got hooked to doing quests again. I did skip doing kill counts since I find the exp from killing monsters while questing as well as the card rewards with dungeon/mission runs inbetween enough. Maybe later on I will resume doing kill counts again.

I always thought I’m a Swordie at heart, but maybe there’s an arrow stuck in there? :joy:

Or maybe I just got tired of the usual CataGoon routine in TBL that I needed to try something different?

trials and errors are part of the game. May I ask why did you choose H1 instead of R1? barrage makes everything easy for leveling and 10% steady aim scales great for late game.

It’s weird support PVP / AOE PVE archer build, sort of a v2/correction of my 1st archer:

Please don’t judge me.

I was testing things with my 1st Archer and found some synergy between Pointing and Circling and realized it was fun.

Also, needed something that could at least decently farm 145.

Guess I got tired of following the meta, as effective as they can be.

ps. there’s still 10 unspent skill points in Scout3 there.

traitor. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh sh*t, my cata brothers found me!

Archer is very easy to level. Auto aim is too good.
I tried to play melee several times, I already quit.

The disappearance of the swordies.

Oh the feels.

That GIF just reminded me of friends I used to play this game with. Same friends who introduced me to RO and played with for years.

They’re in the Overwatch hood now. If only IMC was fast enough with tackling the issues. It’s been that bad.

Someone should slap the ToS logo on that gif.

I started on archer. I was used to mobile attacks & high evasion. I tried sword, cler, and wiz but deleted them. Currently only 1 melee (cleric), stuck during leveling.

Please Greyheim D:< try 1-280 with full cons cryochrono T.T

p.s. finally got it to 280 3 days ago.

Cryo3chrono was my wizard, also had a thauma. Deleted both

Hehe  you need to be a masochist like me.

I really cannot level without high damage, and dodging attacks (or high eva). Cryo and thaum so difficult, even with cafrisacradagger.

@greyhiem @Nicola never tried, but I can only imagine how hard it must be to level a CryoChrono especially in low-pop servers.

I once had a pyroLinker before. Didn’t last long on me. Magic-type classes in MMOs just isn’t my thing.

Tried making an Archer. Did not get past 62. Could not handle the lack of mobility, sprint.

Hahaha I feel ya bro. “Once you go Trot, you never go walk.” I even followed @kinyau87’s Squire build and picked Cata at R4 for that same purpose on my soon-to-be Squire. :joy:

Having Scout kinda solves that problem for me though, at least partially.
