R.I.P server , I don’t see the point of testing today once so ever. I can’t even hand in a quest/progress further.
Isn’t the point of an (almost) open beta to stresstest? All data collected will contribute to a more fluid live experience. IMC can shuffle stuff around and see what their server need to handle at what times etc.
Just wait for next patch/maintenance. Pretty sure the Devs already know about this since everyone is ranting about it.
As far as I know, this is all happening since the machines that handle the servers are getting overloaded with data and processed information. So they might be running a bit slow. All we can do is wait for the Devs to upgrade the system and also to make the game a lot more optimized. Since I’m sure there are some optimization problems that need to be fixed before release. But it does take time to do all of this.
I don’t see the point of this tho… I can’t tell what’s a bug and what’s de-sync lag and other. I want to help, but I can’t.
Unlike some ppl I’m not looking at this from perspective of purely having “fun”. I’m keeping notes of things I see as “fixed” from previous beta, as well as new bugs. It’s really difficult to help/contribute at this point.
That is making me concerned as to how successful the data gathering will be.
To give you an example:
Archer animation stuns the player for 3-5 seconds if you spam click before it finishes.
Essentially leaving you open to enemy attacks. A core game-play fault.
Lag or Bug? You tell me.
Collecting data isn’t only about finding bugs and player feedback. Player connecting, general traffic, player per zone etc. This is the perfect environment to stress test and see how big the server need to be.
e\ I’d love to have a more stable experience, but this is also part of being involved in a beta. Player will drop and IMC will learn, give the adjustments some time.
In my eyes nothing changes , I’m sure that they are working day and night on it. I’m questioning tho if they need more time , not being under the pressure. Taking it back to the board so to speak. I simply have no clue when I should be trying and when I shouldn’t be trying. I’d be happy to get that question answered.
This is a terrible suggestion but ALOT of my lag issues and “bugs” have resolved themselves since… …
Switching servers!
Yes, it sucks because all my progress is gone and I have had to start over… BUT leaving Laima was one of the best decisions I made. That server seems to be super, omega over crowded!
Then maybe a feature allowing transfers would help release the stress on this single server. I mean it’s not really rocket science , at least I don’t think it is.
