I purchased one of the founder packs along with my girlfriend. We both have loved and enjoyed this game from the beta and been looking forward to it for a long time. Neither of us are redeeming or opening our founders pack, however, because honestly we may want to return them over the trade restrictions. Playing a game with friends is far different than playing a game alongside friends, and without trading this game is the later.
The lag is bad, yes, but that will be fixed eventually. That’s obviously not meant to be a game feature. However, trade restrictions are. It’s been proven that they don’t stop RMTs (Real Money Transactions), so the only reason they exist is to hinder players and lock fundamental features of the MMORPG genre behind a paywall.
Both myself and my girlfriend are more than willing to spend money on fun little costumes, trinkets, hell even reset potions from time to time. However, having the trade restrictions are ridiculous. Trading should be free to everyone across the board. Lacking that option there at least shouldn’t be a god damned limit of 30 per month even if you do cough up the cash. Truthfully, I’m more than willing to pay a subscription for a good MMO, and so if I had to buy a token every month to make this game behave 100% like any other MMO I would, but the restrictions even if I did that are ridiculous.
So, onto the vow: I hereby vow to never spend any more money on this game so long as the trade restrictions exist in their current state. And, pending a reaction from IMC soon, our founders packs may be returned through steam for a refund (which they’ve said can be done if left unopened).
