Viable Eastern Cleric Build

Hello,

I’m very interested in eastern religions and usually I play healer in MMOs, so I was waiting on miko to make a full eastern cleric. Since taoist was also released in the R8 classes, I kinda want to squeeze both of them in the same build (I also wanted to squeeze monk in too and consider it the buddhist part and call it done, but that would be too hard =w= ).

That being said, here is my problem: I want to make this character just because I like the theme of the classes, but obviously, I don’t want to sacrifice too much of my viability in-game. So this is what I’ve came up with:

Cleric c2 -> Priest c1 -> Krivis c3 -> Miko -> Taoist

Cleric c2 is pretty self explanatory, Priest is there for Res and Krivis can help with meltis and maximize taoist lightining damage.

But if I skipped cleric 2, I could maybe try different things, like:

Cleric c1 -> Priest c2 -> Krivis c3 -> Miko -> Taoist

Priest c2 would give me Mass Heal, which is good for actively healing, rather than having people to walk into my heal pads and Revive, which is also great to keep teammates alive.

Cleric c1 -> Priest c1 -> Krivis c3 -> Miko -> Plague Doctor-> Taoist

Although miko can cure status, plague doctor can PREVENT them from happening so it would be good, even if don’t synergize that much. Not to mention another healing method in the form of Healing factor and some added damage with Incineration.

The builds without Cleric 2 are viable? Would they be too bad or undesireable in parties?
Objectives are PvE, pretty much, but again, I don’t want to simply throw away my viability in PvP and maybe Earth Tower.

I’ll say that since it’s more leaning towards DPS your support can be considered okay. I wouldn’t suggest priest 2 for healing. For sole healer, cleric 2 or priest 3 is mandatory in 190++ even for int builds

The last build is the best for me. And you said it yourself that PD can prevent them. What’s the point if you can cure or dispel but when you got caught by debuff yourself?
This will depending on what you can take off your build but if it’s me, I would take off priest 1 and replace it with cleric 2

Between Cleric2 or Cleric1 Priest1, i’d choose Cleric2… The healing is most optimal and always used when needed while Mass Heal struggles with timing and it miss alot on moving targets. Also, dont forget that with Cleric2, Safety Zone is much much better. The other is Fade skill , good especially when you want to res teammate and your Safety Zone is on cooldown. Divine might is also somewhat noteworthy (getting your res from 2 sec cast time to only 1 sec)… Overall, nothing is wasted in choosing Cleric2, it’s a very optimal choice.

It seems like skipping cleric 2 may not be a good idea.

I think I’ll settle with Cleric c2 -> Krivis c3 -> Miko -> (?) -> Taoist then =)

But, for the “(?)” rank, which one would be more useful?

Priest has Resurrection, which is great! And Plague Doctor… well, it’s Plague Doctor! Status prevention is always good I guess, and Healing factor is super strong but no point if the teammates are dead x.x

Sharing my build just in case, wouldn’t exactly recommend it tho due to it lack of notable support capacity, it’s more dps oriented, here’s my build:
-Zaibas buffed by StormCalling
-Double Cure thru Simony
-Hamaya
-Indulgentia
-Tao talisman skills
-Simony of Cure6/Daino10, Dispellers and Omamori charms can also be source of income.


*Miko and Tao skills are left untouched since we still 100% don’t know how will they work here in iToS.

Your build seems pretty solid.
But is Pardoner 2 needed, though? I mean, I don’t think pardoner shops can sell anything other than priest’s buffs. So you could drop it for something else, probably =)

He wants to use double cure… that’s why his pardoner’s simony needs to be at level 10… to be able to craft cure lv 10 (or lv 11 with divine might?) presumably. I’d really prefer to maximize Taoist lightning damage than depending on cure though… is cure lv 10 that good to replace the huge boost of Zaibas by Taoist skill? I mean, Cure is a lower rank skill that’s going to fall off later… right?

cure6(7 w/DM), going for 10 is going to take points off the little support my C2 can offer.
Pard2 is more of my preference and investment for the future with Daino10 scrolling as business(likely to be taken, if others starts making Daino15) due to my experience that Daino5 scrolls are not enough cos of the damned buff slot limit.

I think you can better maximize your char by taking points off from deprotected zone altogether… since this particular skill scales of SPR stat. Also, since defense value cant go below 0, maybe not taking it at all is wiser. Another reason is many other classes can also reduce def value, such as HL3’s Skull Swing (reduce def to 0).

Also, reducing safety zone from 5 to 4 probably is good to, so that you can have 10 cure… I personally would rather prioritize taking skills which scales from our stat so that it’s more optimized.
