Does the penalty against plate armor affects magic?
it says attack…not magic attack
You know you have to attack with the dagger itself to proc the 2% chance of dealing poison damage. Unless you just like the 14 con I believe karachas is better.
- [Poison Effect] 2% chance to inflict poison that deals 6165 damage over 10 seconds on an enemy when attacking with a dagger
Venom is optional and kind of bad 2nd weapon. Here is why:
The poison effect can only trigger when you hit “C” attack, thus that 6.1k damage over 10 seconds isn’t that great either. Overall, that 2% poison effect is useless.
It adds 178 poison attack which is slightly higher than Karacha and Adre which have 153 fire attack, but it comes with the extreme drawback -117 damage on plate armor while Karacha has +61 extra damage on medium.
The Venom also comes with +14 Con compare to +11 Dex from Karacha. This is good for magic classes, since they don’t need any Dex while some physical classes need Dex.
And last, I have yet to test if the “-117 damage on plate armor” affects magic or not. If it doesn’t, then the Venom is the best 2nd weapon for magic classes. For physical classes? Not at all.
Please input the information you find about the proc of -plate attack on magical attacks when you test it out
what about the Double Weapon Assault of Corsair. Will it work?
This is ToS you’re playing lol. You shouldnt take it as simple as that. If that was the case, i wouldnt bothered to ask here…
The high poison damage nullifies the large deficit against plate, not many mobs have plate anyways.
The 2% chance on hit for poison is very good for classes that use offhand to attack. And it’s not 6k damage over 10 seconds, DoTs are affected by modifiers (not sure exactly how) and so it turns out to be way more damage. Some mobs take 2k damage a tick totalling 20k damage.
Edit: poison damage ignores pDEF and mDEF, so against plate I assume it means -117 before the 178 poison damage ignores def. The damage is still good.
The DoT adds the 178 poison damage to each tick and also is affected by STR somehow
Correct me if I am wrong but iirc plant type enemies are immune to poison right?
Bump!
Could anyone confirm if magic attacks ignores the -plate effect? Or if it counts against both phy & magic attacks.
Thanks!
