Using dagger for tank, can I block with it?

I saw a picture and read in a thread that you can block with a dagger, I’m here to know if that is true? Can someone verify that it is indeed possibly for me to block as a tank with dagger, if so I rather use that over a shield.

Afaik… you shouldn’t be able to.

Blockrate only gets triggered with a shield.

There’s other skils like that highlanders and stuff that enables blocking with weapons … but that’s not auto block or c push block.

Only petalsta I think has a “guard” feature when using a shield. That is, you press “C”, to raise your block by a lot. You’ll still block attacks with a dagger given u have a decent amount of block rate if that’s what u mean?

Ignore the text, go to the actual post and read through it, you’ll see that it is a cleric that actually blocks with a dagger… was hoping for confirmation if someone can try this C:

Yeah that info is old, you can block even with a dagger offhand so long as you have the Block stat enabled (by things like Stoneskin and ofcourse wearing a shield).

However, that is passive blocking. Guard from peltasta is active blocking and give’s a lot more block.

Heyo, I just actually managed to get a arde dagger as drop, I socketed it with a blue gem yet there’s no block stat at all, i’m guessing this has been fixed then and no longer works…
'cus I’m assuming that the block stat has to show for it to work

  • How am I supposed to wear a shield with dagger? O_o

  • I realised now that I can’t get block unless I have stone skin or something similiar, that … makes things a lot difficult since my build doens’t have that. xD
    I’d have to invest in scrolls or figure out another way, damnit, I was hoping just the blue gem would be enough.

Yeah you need something that enables block, which atm is either wearing a shield (which means you can’t use a dagger), or stoneskin. Just having the block stat alone doesn’t work.

Thanks man, I get it now, that means I need stoneskin scrolls to use a dagger… I guess that makes it so that dagger will be a constant thing for me just that I’ll have to swap back and forth to shield … I think.
