Usefulness of a Diev C1 in a Sadhu/Druid build

Hello guys, I was wondering which class would be the best filler for a Cleric 2 --> |blank| --> Sadhu 2 --> Druid 2 build.

At first glance, I thought bokor would bring more damage than Krivis (Zaibas 5, no AoE splash attribute and not really useful debuffs without PD) and Cleric 3 (5 extra Cure and Heal levels).

But now I’m wondering how much utility a Diev 1 can actually bring as well: pretty much permanent 20% CD reduction statue with -20 Mov speed and CD increase debuff, permanent statue for faster SP recovery and - consumption for spamming classes and Carve Attack for a filler (hits flying) which should do quite well with a catacombs club.

Other than that, pries 1 would be another choice, pretty much exclusively for ressurection.

So what do you guys think? All in all, which filler rank would make the leveling/partying experience better at 220+ levels (when previous choices actually matter)?

Cleric or Krivis. Diev is basically an enemy to Sadhu itself. What are you going to do, Laima statue? With the invested INT, Diev is out of the picture

Its the same as my build, i took krivis, even tho Zaibas only hit 1 at time, still better than not having a counter against flying mobs.

Akuras can help a bit on luring some mobs that aren’t aggressive.

Zalciai attribute give +48 magic amp.

Unfortunately, cleric class lack lots in skill against flying mobs, i mean the caster builds like ours. At Sadhu C2 you have possession, it is neat skill that lock enemies in place while hitting, but the AoE is small, if one mob pass through you and hit you it is done, and not every time you will have Fade or SZ ready.

Its a shame that carnivore don’t hit flying mobs also, at least should if the grass or bushes where it was cast was tall enough.

How about you SZ first then possesion then Fade to set back up?

You need to work on your rotations rather then blow all your skills at once. This is critical if you are soloing as a cleric.

As i said, you won’t have both read to be used most of the times, specially on an area like DP 2, where the trees use gust and take you out of place canceling Possession cast, and believe me, when they gang up on you they spread around, not in line like most MMOs you see out there, Possession is a 360 degree AoE skill but it is in front of you not around you, not to count that gust is a ranged attack.

There’s also the invulnerability from sterea trotfh (10 seconds duration 30 seconds CD) once you get to druid 2.

But hey @Nirimetus, since you have a build similar to the one I’d like to experiment with, would you mind telling me how often you actually have a downtime between positioning yourself, casting your main DPS skills (posession, cure and carnivory) and helping out with heal tiles?

I mean I’m starting to feel like that filler rank would be best suited to bring more utility than anything else since there seems to not be that much free time after all to use the filler rank damage skills.

Wouldn’t that mean in the long run having either stationary buffs with long durations (diev’s statues) or ressurrection (priest) bring more to the table?

Any comments and real experience is welcome

First off let me warn you that i use even my heal tiles to dps, but yes, the residual tiles i use for healing, be it myself or my partner.

As for filler rank if you refer to Krivis, i only took due to the lack of better class, i could go cleric C3, but it would honestly be more of a waste than anything. At this time i wish Sadhu was unlocked one rank lower lol.

At lower Lvs being a Priest could help on killing flying enemies using blessing, but when you hit Lv 75, you will notice that the damage is not even that good, and you will expend a good 30 seconds to kill something only with basic attacks, not to count that you will take heavy damage depending on the monsters.

Indeed having resurrection would be interesting, but our function in the end is DPS not support, and i am sure there are better builds that would complement those classes better than Sadhu and Druid.

Zaibas is not really that much of a skill tbh, but at least it help kill some stuff faster, specially if they are ice element mob, then Zaibas shine in damage output, but on the counterpart, it is deception against earth element mob, the damage drop by half from normally.

But still, it is a good filler until you get Sadhu, to cover a bit of that you can use SZ/Fade + OOB to kill the flying stuff that come close to you.

Now as for the other skills, it depend on the monster types, dark element mobs die fast as you know, since most of our skills are holy damage, while positioning, which for me is extreme difficult since my latency is always over 300ms (Brazil here), i generally try to move for a while leaving the monsters at least 10 steps behind me, then i turn around, and since they are in line trying to catch me, i turn around and activate possession, this allow me to lock them all with safety.

Note that the above i only do when my Fade or my SZ is on CD, even so, if i try to only move a bit, use SZ and cast possession, i have issues losing 2 or 3 mobs in the AoE since my high latency cause the monsters thing that i move more than i really did.

So instead of waste an important defense skill on a lure that i know it will have a 20-30% miss, i save it for Elites with high HP pool and heavy damage or magic or archer type mob that cause heavy damage.

Cure is a good skill to any time, cast it, lure the mob to it, if the mob go around position and jump over it to position the mob on top of it.

My experience at Demon Prison was a breeze since most of the monsters there are dark and demon types, so your holy skills will shine there.

Unfortunately i didn’t had the luck chance to find Harpeia there, so i can’t tell how well it would be against a WB.

I am still going to Druid C1, so i can’t say how carnivore will fare for me, if i does the same effect as possession (stun) even tho only work on ground mob, it still a + for me, i can leave it there doing damage while i can cast possession on the flying ones.

As for gear, i think it depends on how much at easy you feel while luring and killing, i am using plate pants and boots, and i still am using my Rokas Robe (the purple one from the quest) and a mage gloves Lv 120, my neck is that Electus, it help a little bit on Zaibas, but not a miracle lol.

As for my weapons, i am using these with awakening:

It do increase well the damage, specially that 50 holy damage on Valias.

My stats are a bit extreme, but it is the way i feel more at easy:

When i hit 100 CON i will put the rest in INT.

I still need to get some good gear, i might pass to all cloth later and increase well the armor attribute.

Sorry for the text wall, but that is my experience so far, i am by no means perfect playing, specially with a messed up controller mode and high latency as i have here, not to count the stupid stuttering i get sometimes.
But i am having fun with this build, i love caster type char, and this one is giving me what i need so far.

I’d still recommend Bokor c1 as a filler tbh. Especially if the only skill you’d have to hit flying enemies is Zaibas.

In addition, Effigy’s [Blind] has good synergy with Possession: in PvM, so long as you aren’t standing right next to the mob, it won’t even notice you or move while blinded  .

Laima Statue can aggro mobs (due to debuffs), so they wont attack your body. Also helps you to hit your AoE skills on all possible mobs.

Carve does decent damage even with just its own base value and a mace (upgraded) equiped.

Diev is a solid pick for Sadhu builds.

Thanks bro, that was really detailed and interesting to read. By the way, since Im also a Brazilian player, hearing about how high ping affects your playstyle was incredibly helpful.

@Naivety I’d totally forgotten about the blind chance on effigy, that’d definetely help out with the channeling from possession. Bokor surely feels better as a filler than krivis at this point.

@Satoru Good points. Diev C1 seems to be the best utility filler after all while Bokor C1 seems to be the best DPS/semi utility filler (via blind).

Thanks for all the tips guys. I guess both options are viable and it depends more on playstyle than anything else at this point.

Best of luck to everyone and thanks once more for the help.
