US server please

I will try to post this in a way that doesn’t make anyone mad. From what I understand this is an international server, but could we have server listings for US, EU, SA, etc.?

My problem is that a lot of yells are in Portuguese and I don’t understand and sometimes I also join parties where they’re speaking Portuguese. I might quit the game because of this because the communication barrier is too frustrating.

No Im not suggesting an IP block necessarily, Im talking about maybe they could have region labeled servers.

Well you can deal with that like a champ and try to learn more about other languages, but i feel you, and that does sound like a good idea.

Have you tried changing channels? Your play time may also inpact this but I haven’t seen that many speaking in another language.

Kind of curious on this since I haven’t seen this as much of an issue at all. Internation is just another way of saying they’re trying a western release from my understanding. While it’s true a lot of people from various countries are playing it’s aimed more towards the European-North American area.

The majority of people who speaks portuguese in iToS right now are from Brazil.

If i’m not mistaken, it’s already confirmed that IMC intends to give us a local server but it’s not clear if they’ll do it by themselves or through a publisher.

To be honest i would like us to have a local server as well the freedom to play on the international servers. That way those who can’t speak english or just like to play with other brazilians can have a place to have fun and people like me who can comunicate in both languages can choose where they want to play and have fun as well.

Oh and please don’t be mad on the people who are saying things in portuguese on the chat, some of them are just trolling yes, but there are good people that want to play the game just like you do, but don’t know how to comunicate in a language other than their native one.

I’m not talking about a new physical server, I’m just saying we could choose a “region” on the server select screen so communication is easier.

Bumping this post so people can see it

There’s still a chance you’d see that on a US server anyway.Location doesn’t necessarily mean “we speak this language and this language only”.The US especially, because it’s a blend of different types of people;or in this case players.I’ve played MMO’s that had location named servers exactly like you’ve stated, and still seen overseas players speaking their native languages. They usually keep it in guilds/parties,but it was sometimes on the chat too.Point is,you’re going to see it one way or another. If overseas people see that our version is in some way better for them than their ToS version is [publisher, players, events, etc.],they’re going to find a way to get in anyway.

The party system in the game makes it insanely easy to stick to what you know and like, and the chat can be ignored. It’s really not worth quitting the game over.

I didn’t see a single message that wasn’t in English and during the test I was on pretty much any time I wasn’t asleep, so I don’t really find it that big of a deal.

However, I do think there needs to be another server for the sake of lag. Last I heard the international server is located in… West Virginia I believe? Which means that people connecting from Europe or the parts of Asia that don’t have their own individual publishers will probably have a ton of lag because of the distance to the server.

my guess is that US servers will only be considered if it is decided on a regional publisher

This topic would make more sense in obt.

For the sake of avoiding a pointless argument, I’ll avoid spitting out the insults I wish to throw at you, save for the fact that I actually find that mentality… quite hypocritical.

  • There’s no guarantee there will be multiple servers, that I am aware of.
  • The number of people willing to quit this game because of a minor communication barrier is low enough that I don’t think it should matter to IMC.
  • I personally find the suggestion itself to have language tags fine.
Not necessarily for a server, just for the party system.

Ha, yeah… DotA 2 comes to mind. I don’t mind personally just as long as people respect each other but that rarely happens. Look at it this way though. At least there isn’t VoIP there seems to be at least on the surface some cultural differences about how much noise is socially acceptable in some places of the world–gets a bit too… distracting at times.

It’s already bad enough that the game server is located on the East coast of the USA, which causes lag for most, if not all, European players. A ping of 100 - 200 for a game such as this is horrible to say the least.

Psh… I’m East cost… And personally I’m tired of having 50-60ms more then every person in California. So no. You don’t get to play that card buddy… You get good servers for every other game.
