US mentality behind regional servers

I personally think it’s just silly of IMC from a business standpoint to not have a EU server. The cost per server vs micro transactions made there should more than make up for it I believe but who knows not my company :/. Just know that if it was my company then there’d be Regional Servers for ALL and one big one where we can all lag and hang out together.

I was just about to post that video.

Yea that’s game implementation problem. Like I said they did no action queuing which is a terrible game design for a global MMO.

Even just basic AA you can see the difference. I can bunny hop attack so fast vs other players its like 50% - 100% more DPS.

I agree, and that’s why I’ve been somewhat concerned for the games future as I am starting to believe IMC themselves doesn’t have much faith in their game as kToS isn’t doing that great.

As mentioned before, if IMC believed in their product and were confident that people would stick around after the initial 1-4 first months (where we usually see a drop-off in players in almost all new MMORPG released) there should be no question that they should already be planning several more servers in different region.

But here we are, and it’s making me somewhat scared.

It might be staff issue than a server issue. They will need an entire team of staff to handle the EU server which is what’s probably holding them back now.

That said I’d love to play with EU players in ToS too… I had a lot of online friends from EU region in the past.

Im so lost… i played the ICBT2 aswell and had NOT A SINGLE ISSUE with my ping. Did anyone had any serious problems? Im from central EU ´so i had a bad ping, but it didnt feel like there are problems connected to this, no lags, no location problems. I paid the 50€ knowing i have a bad ping but no ■■■■ is given.

Well, if it turns out to be true, they shot them self in the leg with a rocket launcher.
It literally means that any form of pvp will be built around screaming “**** you imc”

This is a fantastic point! They do seem to be interactive with the community somewhat maybe we should start a poll or post listing EU volunteers and what skills / help they can provide in getting their own servers up over there as well as for SEA and South America. Brazilians I got you.

Do not throw lies around now. They announced that they look into and work on it. Meanwhile we can play with bad ping and then transfer a team onto the new server.
The promised transfer means they want to setup servers soon. Let them pay some bills first.

Just to point these out.

Because we “whined” we got:

  • Confirmation that we won’t be getting EU Founders servers. We wanted to know this Day 1. Better late than never I say.
  • Confirmation that refunds are possible.
  • Confirmation that saving the Founder’s Package is savable.
  • Confirmation that transfers will be made available.
  • Confirmation that EU is a big share of Founder’s Buyers, but not feasible for a local server.
  • Confirmation that servers are NA based.
  • Discounted Founder’s Package at the end of April.

As much as you guys like to hate on the “whiners” we were active and they responded. We have our answers and they have tried to soften the deal, but at the same time the haters of the “whiners” have gotten a lot of good information too.

Yea this game is highly incomplete, and garnered a lot of high hopes (no thanks to Maggie and her team! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:), but the game design isn’t even close to the quality of the Art + BGM.

@celexample

I agree there’s no such thing as whining. Most of it is players voicing legitimate concerns. Only the whine callers (if there’s even such thing) fail to acknowledge the reasons behind the concerns.

They literally announced today that there is not enough support for it from other regions.
Its a retarded statement considering a bare minimum of 30% of the community would get better pings from an eu server.

They promised transfer because people who like to play on their regional server are refunding the FP

The basic of PR’s way not to lost “sale”

Americans only make 24% of the community dude, both West and East. Are you being serious right now? If the whole EU leave that’s a huge chunk of their revenue gone.

The thing that makes me hopeful is that is that euRO opened later than iRO (way later even) and had transfers from iRO to euRO (even though the servers were being handled by different companies) and euRO for several years was more popular than iRO and had a larger playerbase.

Its their pie chart. I didnt come up with the numbers.
They state that they got something like 56% of the moneys from north and south America.
If we ignore SEA players, those who would profit from an EU server (ON THIS CHART) are 30% of the people at a bare minimum.

I know that the entire f2p community has a lot more difference in terms of %, but i guess this is exactly why they did not release those numbers.
TL;DR: I think they just didnt have the balls to admit that they do not want to make any more servers. EVER. So they used a **** straw-man argument to push the question aside.
Ironically even that was bad, since even on that pie chart, they are literally screwing with 1/3 of their customer base.

Furthermore if the game turns out to be utter **** in terms of handling ping differences, They are going to lose AT LEAST 1/3 of their funding.
I mean, im not a dev, im a simple player, but this is common sense for me. To IMC and the rest of the taught, experienced and learned team: not so much.

You’re counting Brazil as America? Nice.

Your NA server will last forever. I’m sure.

It’s an international version, but that doesn’t mean it’s meant for EU. Sure, there isn’t an IP block but this is really a north and Central American service. Just because it’s English doesn’t mean it’s meant for anyone worldwide who speaks English. Consider it fortunate that there isn’t an ip block instead of demanding EU servers like you have some sort of entitlement. There will probably be a EU publisher of the game is successful anyways

This is true coming from an initial hater of the whiners. thanks frands!

Same continent, will have better pings than most of SEA, Asia and some parts of the eu. Why would i not count south america as part of america?
Is this like a canada vs usa thing?
