Urg, why is it so hard to make a build

I’ve been spending the last 4 hours trying to find information on how to build my cleric, and still can’t find a conclusion to it. It is a really crucial decision as it will affect gameplay alot in the long run, and might even ruin it if you take the wrong choices. Of course my main goal is party support for late game, but I’ve played too many of those games to know that if you don’t have dps on your own, you’re gimping yourself badly for both leveling, and making dungeon runs faster by helping the group kill stuff.

Cleric 2 seems like a must for pretty much any build, because of the extre heal tiles and the massive boost to safety zone, so at least that’s set in stone.

I really wanted krivis 2, for the splash damage on zaibas. I tought as a int build, the damage on heal, cure, and zabais from krivis c2 would be enough dps, while giving you decent heal. The problem, is that doesn’t leave much room for priest circles, as I feel the core of a supporter buffs comes from them… Would cleric 2 krivis 2 priest 1 even work? probably 1 into druid also, int focus.

The other option seems to be chaplain. starting as cleric 2, priest 3, chaplain 1, krivis 1. Not exactly in that order, but chaplain dps seems decent enough for the whole leveling process. Also want krivis 1 at the very lest for daino (yeah I know I can buy scrolls but still…) With that build the buffs are being taken care of, as well as the dps, but I really don’t think that the dps would work in group and hard, late game content. Going melee and putting yourself at risk in really tough enconters (we might not have them yet but I’m sure they will appear in the future) doesn’t seem very viable.

so really, I don’t know what to do anymore D: Anyone has some ideas?

I cant help much as I am a noob and ahve a help thread of my own running, BUT I could maybe ease your thinking a bit.

I wanna be a support that can also deal some damage, but mostly focus on the support side. So atm Im mostly leaning towards cleric+priest3+chaplain+cleric2+plague doctor.

In that combo I would have the heals and condition removals for end game along with decent dmg with auto attacks in between casts. Also auto attacking in this game for some reason doesnt feel as boring as in many games so its not a problem for me at least.

Yes! I agree with you, I actually enjoy auto attacking too, and the whole chaplain overall seems interesting to me. I’m just concerned I won’t be a good addition to a party in big group, hard content later on, while a int focus would be able to pull out great numbers while having decent supports… decisions, decisions :frowning:

If you’re aiming for chaplain, i feel that getting priest to c3 as fast as you can is priority. though just hitting rank 4 myself i can see it might take a while with the priest skills. I havnt tried the priest line, so i dont know how effective aspersion is as a damage source nor how expensive holy water is.

I’d say if you’re still starting. I’d say go priest first. if it’s effective and you seem to be dishing out enough damage go priest 2 and level the attributes for safety wall so it’s +20 gradually and work towards chaplain.

If not you can add into clierc/krivis or even start again. I remember getting up to the first rank change quite fast and by doing it all already you’d just do it faster.

After all the readind Ive done the support elements should be enough for end game. (10-11 heal tiles, mass heal, PD healing circle, condition removals, 40 blocks from that cleric skill, revive etc. The dps with chaplain would only be an added bonus + help with soloing if you ever want that.

Unless healign becomes less needed in the end game, which sounds weird to begin with.
