Updater/patcher.version.txt (975) error

Bug Description :
Game crashed and I wasn’t able to start it after. I’ve tried reinstalling the game and revalidating cash but it didn’t help.

Steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. launch the game
  2. wait for launcher to start
  3. ?
  4. game doesn’t start

Would you try these steps to see if it helps?

Right click on Tree of Savior (English Ver.)
Click on Properties
Click Local Files tab
Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache

Let us know if it still isn’t working.

Hmm, would you submit a ticket through our Support page, then? Maybe with more detailed information the support team can figure out what went wrong. Make sure to note you already tried this fix too.

That’s so dumb, Game Crashed and now i get this error every time. How can this even happen ???

Ok, i’m no more triggered. Found solution (?). WHen i got this error first try - cheking steam chache had worked. Second time it did not. But Pc reboot did work. So my conclussin - some process in tray is the cause of this.

Yeah, rebooting PC helps. Verifying cache doesn’t. I have the same error everytime I close game and try to launch it again. Looks like some background process is blocking launcher?

Go to your steam location, find Tree Of Savior and delete “patch” folder in it ("\Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior\release" and in “\Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior”), then check cashe of the game.

Getting this Exact Issue aswell.

Logged a Support Ticket which was Marked as Answered with the suggestion to re-download. :frowning:

Nothing has worked for me and so far I have tried;

Uninstalling from Steam Library and Removing the whole TreeOfSavior folder under SteamApps\common.

Reinstalling Tree Of Savior.

Run Verify Integrity of Game Cache… (All Files Verified Ok).

Replaced .xml files from Known Issues thread.

Run ToS.exe as Administrator.

Restarted PC.

No Anti-Virus Installed. (Manual Scan and Clean)
No Firewall Installed.

I was able to Play on Saturday the 2nd of April (02/04/2016) now suddenly i can not launch the Game. I have found running a VPN allows the patcher to run, This however is extremely laggy and unplayable. I was apart of the iCBT 1 & 2 and never encountered this Error. I am using the same PC and Internet Connection as when i participated in Beta Testing.

Pretty Frustrating, I have Purchased this game and am unable to play it.
