You left out the last part in the said post of the GM/Staff:

For example, a player going afk while leaving a heavy object on the attack key has to be handled differently from regular bots. The classifier can deem the afk player innocent from looking at the honest play records, so afk players should not be reported using the report function as that will work against your RII.

Lastly, if we’re not absolutely sure the reported account is a bot, then it will not be banned and the reporter’s RII will remain unchanged.

LASTLY, IF WE’RE NOT ABOSLUTELY SURE THE REPORTED ACCOUNT IS A BOT, IT WILL NOT BE BANNED AND THE REPORTER’S RII WILL REMAIN UNCHANGED.

Whether you intentionally left it out or not, we will never know.

Also you shouldn’t interpret it in your own way, rather you should strive to understand what the writer intends to convey on the reader.

Lastly, if you’ve clearly read and understood the said post you are using as support for your claim, you should’ve had your answer by now just by reading the second to the last sentence which I quoted in uppercase. Might I suggest to try your luck on Support Tickets, as those are intended for issues like these.

Use your common sense, if IMC just use some AI algorithm to asses bot reports and just plain ban the reported account the moment the algorithm evaluates it as a bot, clearly we should’ve seen more accounts banned on each day compared to the mere ~250 per day on average that was posted in the last few days.

In the second paragraph it reads

stayed true to its words, there would be no need to post

Hence why I made a support ticket, posted on a thread, and made my own thread. I am still awaiting a response unfortunately.

I can only hope that my report will be used as important data and they’ll be able to improve the accuracy of the bot reporting system.

There is nothing wrong with afk farming if it relies on game mechanics (kneeling shot, pets, summons - even for a short time, it’s still afk farming) but not on bots/macro. People reporting afk players should get heavy penalties on their RII because it’s basically abusing the system.

Anyone that thinks there is nothing wrong with AFK farming needs to get their heads out of their arses. If you’re not playing the game(AFK and still farming), you may as well be botting with a lesser program than what the bots use. AFK farming via any means DOES give you an unfair advantage over people that play legitimately. AFK players using any means to keep the grind going while asleep or whatever interfere with my questing/grinding and anyone else that is actually playing. Not to mention, the “Z-botting” is class specific. Stop trying to warp the terms of service to try and defend this. If they wanted to have AFK farming in the game, they would implement it. End of story.

IMC dont ban z spammers, they do ban botters however.

After rereading IMC’s statement on the report bot function in it’s entirety, I can only come to the conclusion that they are saying reporting people who “z-afk” has to be done in a different way than using the in game report bot function. Nothing in that statement seems to condone “z-afking.”

From what I read, it seems that the system they’re using has certain qualifications or checks that it runs on the reported player and if those checks point to the account possibly being a bot, it puts a red light on the account for the GM’s to further investigate it and make a decision. (Either way, the actual banning of accounts is not automated and the GM’s have the final say.)
I can only assume that the check the report bot function runs doesn’t account for players using the “z-afk” method, and that the system is responsible for automatically calculating a player’s RII points autonomously. This is why they warned against using the report bot button on players “z-afking.” Because the system may find them innocent and negatively affect the reporters RII without ever having the account reach a GM’s attention. Not because the act of “z-afking” is an innocent one.

Don’t be childish. It’s a fair ban. There’s no difference between key-holder and programm. You’ve automated game procces to gain profits while away from the pc. All of you “smart” z-botters must have a ban.

Yes, but im pretty sure they dont get banned yet. IMC will very likely to included them on the list, or categorically specify if they were z botting, however we have none, nada, nein, only botters and gold sellers on the list. Which means there is no action yet for z spamming. OP is just using z spamming as an excuse hoping IMC would reverse its decision.

Well, they stated that a different approach is used to z-afker.

So, seems like the dude got his ban lifted. Because a wrong approach was done to report him. In my case, if ever i saw someone like him i would gladly “report” it. It is unfair and i will gladly partake in hunting them.

Don’t use the report bot function. It is for bots!
