Underwhelming Classes. Which ones and why?

It’s simple. Let’s say that IMC devs are researching game issues that players point out in this forum. In your opinion, what class(es) you find problematically and/or fundamentally underwhelming and explain briefly why. Let’s start:

  • Appraiser: A full utility class that fails to bring utility. Truly sad. It was supposed to be a utility-money-making-squirepardoner-ish, but this class can’t even compete with others yellow (money-wise) classes. You can play 1000 hours of the game without ever needing to use a identify shop. The enhancement buff isn’t strong and doesn’t even affect your main weapon. Probably the worst hidden class right now.

  • Cataphract: Damage/Skill factors of this class are a total joke. It was too strong before the update, but they overkilled this class. Not kidding, i actually laughed when i compared Cataphract’s skill factors with others classes.

  • Dragoon: Painfully slow skills/animations and cast times along with low damage/skill factors when compared with other rank 7 and 8 skills from other classes. It’s still somewhat decent, but it’s definitively underwhelming as a standalone class when compared with other damage dealer classes. Also, fu** dethrone’s knockback, why didn’t they put a remove knockback attribute like other classes?

  • Paladin: Damn, even after the update, this class still weak. Sure, isn’t a complete trash, but still not have the same impact than other cleric classes. Restoration still weak, resist elements still have a unnecessary large cooldown, and barrier still can be scrolled (the attributes still not very impactful). Turn dead and conversion still not very important unless you take a specific build. Overall still a pretty bad class.

of all the Paladin-esque class in other MMORPG i know

ToS’s Paladin is the lamest.

I definetely disagree on appraiser being on the “underwhelming” category.

I actually really like the utility it brigns for a single rank. It’s quite easy to fit into archer builds without much loss: (1) extra (group) crit chance in an area, even though its low it does help; (2) stats decrease in a big area + pvp utility with nullifying trans; (3) now that weapons and enhances matter, the subweapon buff is quite decent (though I wish it could go 5 levels so it’d bring subweapon to another enhancement threashold everytime).

Totally agree on Paladin, Dragoon and Cata.

  • I’d add Kabbalist to that list as well. It’s kinda messy as a class since all the number computing takes quite some preparation without much benefit after it’s done.

  • Krivis definetely makes that list as well. there’ s nothing really important this class can bring besides pairing it up with pardoner for those daino scrolls. I’ve not once felt like life would’ve been easier had I used any of krivis utility skills (besides daino oviously). Zaibas also brings no real damage, even with the aoe ratio and area increases.

  • RuneCaster’s another really underwhelming class. I love the concept of it, attack skills look really cool and all that, but truth is, there’s hardly any reason to take it for anything. Being a rank 6 choice, it offers pretty much nothing significant nor does it improve the gameplay of any really viable build since cast times and cool downs still pretty much demand a wizard 3, unless you’re just buffing Rune of Ice and forgetting the rest of the kit (by kit I mean the attack options, cause protection and giants are just for pvp/fun).

  • Rogue and Shinobi share my last ranting for underwhelming classes. First of all, yes, the burst Shinobi can bring is insane. But none of that is really the shinobi’s hability per se. If you pick Shinobi in a build without any clone-copiable skills for instance, shinobi’s own kit is incredibly underwhelming and buggy. For both Rogue and Shinobi you basically get 1 single skill of its own kit which somehow matters (a nice spammable kunai or sneak hit buff), but that’s it, they’re supposed to be the “assassin-like” choices, but they offer hardly anything of the sort after all. No damage assassins ftw. i’ll kill you by boring you with my (in)utilities!
