Unceasing "client_tos.exe has stopped working" during gameplay

Date and Time(Please, specify the timezone) : All day since 3 june when I installed the game for the first time until today, 5 june.

Server Name: [EU] Fedimian

Team Name: Atreiides

Character Name: Kimiera

Bug Description :
Since I installed the game, it keeps shutting down every now and then during gameplay, and without a numeric error. Just “client_tos.exe has stopped working” and the “close” button in the window. I can play max 30 min, after that the client shuts down, usually while fighting or after killing a monster. I tried reinstalling C++, DirectX, Flash Player… and nothing works. I’ve reinstalled and repatched the game 3 times and I’ve tried validating steam local files almost 4 times. All those times, it says that it couldn’t find 3, 4 or 8 files and redownloaded them, but still without solution. I also tried copying the file D3DX9_43.dll from my System32 folder to release in TreeOfSavior folder at steamapps and also downloading a new D3DX9_43.dll file from internet. I’ve been forced to uninstall the game due to this issue since I can even play for an hour, I hope there’s a fix and I can reinstall it again.

Steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. Open launcher

  2. Connect to server (Europe)

  3. Play normally, issue usually appears after 25-30 min of gameplay and while fighting.

Game Control Mode (Keyboard/Joypad/Mouse) : Joypad

System

  • CPU : Intel® Core™ i3-4160 CPU @ 3.60 GHz 3.60 GHz
  • RAM : 8,00 GB
  • Graphics Card : GeForce GTX 750
  • Mainboard :
  • Storage : 465 GB
  • OS : Windows 10 Pro
  • Internet Connection :
  • Country / Region (US-east/west) :Europe, Spain

Hope someone can help me fix this, I can’t play at all, sometimes it crashes after 2 minutes and other times I can play for 30-35 min after the client stops working.

The first one never works, it is in rare cases that it does, and never do the second one, you might get a nice virus that wipe out your hard drive or cause even worse damage.

Did you installed the DX that comes with the game?

Other things is, turn off all the settings in the game settings, most are bugged or not optimized, specially monster death animation and soft particles.

Turn off FXAA and Vsync and use the same on your Nvidia CP settings for the game profile (if you don’t know how google it).

Also, in the user.xml (release folder) try to turn down a bit the drawn of monsters and players a bit.
DrawActorPersent="50"
DrawMonsterPersent=“35”

Both are set by default as “99”, the numbers above i did for my rig (laptop GTX 660M 2GB). You can try with the same or other numbers, it wont cause too much trouble, and if you get any error while trying to start the game, just delete the user.xml and run the game again, it will be recreated with the default settings.

Other than that, i doubt there is much you can do, the game is poorly optimized, have issues in different rigs and sometimes it is a pain in the ass to find a solution, when have one that is.

Oficially, I’ve tried everything. I did all you said and was able to play for a while without any issues, but still crashes. Guess I can’t do anything to fix it. Thanks anyways :slight_smile:

Yeah, unfortunately, the so called optimization from last month was all undone in the following patch they released.

Lets hope when they merge the kToS patches with ours, if they will really do that and don’t decide to change their minds, we have most of this crap fixed.
